I got it today. I am watching "Girl School" first just to get my FOL fix, then watching the others. I am so excited to have this, especially when it's still the weekend.

I picked it up before work this morning. Looking at an online episode guide, I'd buy up to season 6. Once they introduce Maggie and Sam and Kimberly leaves, that's all I need. Hopefully they'll come out with at least two sets a year.

I picked up a copy last week while I was in NY from Virgin Megastores. I haven't had the chance to watch it yet but it looks great and I am so thrilled this show is finally on DVD.

Now they just need to release ALL the other seasons/episodes (uncut) as well. ;) :)

That's right! Did you know that the person who played Charlie in Season 8, the final season, was Jason Hervey, who played Wayne Arnold on The Wonder Years? :D I certainly hope that season makes it to DVD since I have never seen the season (I learned this fact on a fan page--I believe it was the Diff'rent Strokes section at Tim's TV Showcase, www.timvp.com (http://www.timvp.com/tv.html)).

I have only seen maybe 3 episodes of season 8. One when N@N had Block Party Summer in 2001 and the other two during the TV Land Fandemonium.

I can sure say that saying season 8 being drastically different (or diff'rent) than seasons 1-7 is an understatement. The entire Drummond penthouse was remodeled. Plus the theme song had been remade and updated to sound more "1985"

It just occurred to me: was this due to some legal reasons, with ABC picking up the rights for the final season?

I really hope they release the other seasons on DVD. I've collected a lot of episodes but very few from season 8.
