Hi everyone. I wanted to get in a quick post this evening and ask for as many prayers as possible for us Floridians. I'm just north of Tampa on the west coast, and the last few weeks have been horrible. BTW, this has contributed to my lack of posting recently, and I wanted to thank Lolac for PM'ing me to ask how I was (it's nice to be missed).

This storm is, by far, the worst looking thing I've seen on the west coast of Florida in the entire 35 years I've been living here. It's just really scary. So please say a prayer for us here if you can.

Thanks folks! It's nice to know people are out there praying.

Right now, this storm looks like it will miss my area, but nothing is set in stone, since it could easily head back northeast at any point and slam into the Tampa Bay area. But I'm praying that will not be the case, but only God knows. Bottom line is that this storm has slowed up considerably and now what originally was supposed to be a Monday event for us has been pushed back to at least Wednesday. So it's kinda like being on pins and needles waiting to see what track this hurricane will eventually take.

I'm praying with you too.
I have many family and friends on the East coast between West Palm Beach and Miami's North Beach. I too was on pins and needles during "Frances." Despite power outages, gas shortages, 95 degree temperatures, and impassable streets, everyone came out Ok. I'm sure you will too.

B&W Fan, Of course you are in my prayers!! We've had some minor hurricane experience here in Virginia but nothing like what you all have endured, by far. We were on the Outer Banks of North Carolina when Tropical Storm Charley hit there. It was major Hurricane Charley when it hit you guys. It was scary enough for us so I can only imagine how frightening it must have been for you. We have been carefully watching Ivan and hoping it won't hit the US too hard. We will pray for you and all who are in the storm's path. I feel so awful for the people of Grenada!

It looks like the storm will miss my area completely (which is quite astounding considering less than 5 days ago it was projected to make a bee-line right for my back yard).

Now we can begin praying for the poor folks in the Pensacola, Mobile, and New Orleans areas of the Gulf Coast.

I'm happy for you, B&W Fan. My sister was supposed to go down to New Orleans for a wedding this Saturday but that's probably not happening. And she was to fly US Airways! Not a good sign! I'm glad you will be safe and yes, the gulf coast inhabitants are in our prayers!
