The concert took place in 1985 but the documentary was put together this year, 2004. The documentary intersperses the concert music from 1985 with up to date comments from SRV’s former band members from Double Trouble, and also other musicians, such as Jackson Browne and John Mayer.

The show centers around the story stemming from the unfortunate and wholly undeserved negative reception SRV’s band received at the 1982 Montreux festival , followed by their “conquering heroes” reception at the 1985 festival.

The music is GREAT. Watching and listening to SRV”s guitar playing…it just looks impossible that any human being could put anything together that well... Fabulous

Kitt, I agree with you, when I watch any of his or Hendrix performances it is amazing how well they both played. :guitar:

A couple months ago I heard his song "TEXAS FLOOD" on the radio (Of course digital) and today I just got a concert of his on VHS that was compiled in 1995 and they LEFT IT ANALOGUE!!

Absolutely goregous hearing his music as it was meant to be heard!! (Texas flood was played as well as others)


It is incredibly sad he died in 1990 :(
