View Full Version : Who was finer? Wilona or Thelma?
lavonchi 09-07-2004, 03:34 PM What do you think. If you're like me, you watched the show for the comedy & for those two.
Thelma was thick to deffff, but Wilona was aight too.
Tell me what you think.
knl9674 09-10-2004, 03:47 PM Alright, I gotta tell you. I'm a female, but you have to give it up where it's due. I think Thelma was gorgeous and was a true symbol of a "BRICK HOUSE."
You can't touch Thelma. These broads running around today with crooked weaves, too little clothes, face full of makeup, teetering on heels and popping some gum really think they are looking like something.
But Thelma was a natural beauty and put all project chicks on the map! She puts these girls of today to shame. What they must acheive with their bellies out and skirts hiked up their behind...Thelma does 10fold with just a pair of painted on hip huggers, a fitted button down and a matching hair bow.
Go on Thelma! Much respect.
BTW: My husband laughs at how much I'm always watching the show between my DVDs and old tapes. But let Thelma flash across the screen, he's all of a sudden sitting right next to me with a huge smile on his face. Go figure.
lavonchi 09-10-2004, 04:13 PM Yeah you are right.
Thelma never really showed any skin or anything, but still, she was definitely a BRICK HOUSE.
I noticed that a few years ago on the Wayans Bros. show, they did a parody on Good Times & has Bernadett Stanis on as a guest. They recognized too cause she had on those same hip hugger jeans and tight shirt. I must say, she looked just as lovely.
I have a feeling that a lot of people recognized the beauty in Thelma (except J.J., of course). Your husband sounds like he recognizes too!
Its refreshing to see a woman recognize BRICK HOUSE beauty in another woman.
HOWEVER...
I saw an episode this week where Wilona had on a short tennis skirt that she bought for a vacation & I must say, my eyebrow raised. I never looked at Wilona for trying to catch a glimpse of Thelma, but man...
knl9674 09-10-2004, 05:24 PM Now don't get me wrong. Wologna was a nice looking woman as well. As the show progressed Wologna got more catcalls then Thelma from the rowdy, ghetto studio audience. The women seemed to like Wologna more than Thelma. I think b/c Thelma was like a goody 2 shoes, went to school, studied, was a virgin..typical daddy's girl. You know, the type of chick everyone hated on in high school b/c when it was all said it done...there was nothing you could really say about them. BUT WOLOGNA, she was like an old version of an around the way girl basically. Your mama's cool friend that buys you good gifts, always dating a handsome man that smells good and lets you light her cigarette for her when your nobody's looking.
But let's be real for a minute. Now, Florida walks around in 2 piece moo-moos and polyester bell bottom pantsuits all day. Here comes Wologna in some skin tight jeans/slacks with a matching fedora. Now, your wife looks like this....and her friend looks like that. And we never saw an episode where James took a quick peek?? COME ON.....he loved to look at the ladies.
nerrad 09-13-2004, 10:48 AM Thelma. Nice lips.:happyface
msjay 09-13-2004, 12:33 PM Well, as you can tell by my name I'm a woman. Wilona would wear nice wigs SOMETIMES and clothes, but as far as shape and face thelma looked better. She would be my husbands kind of woman, he like them looking like her. She has a nice shape and not too much. It amazes me how flat her stomach is after all those years. But hands down Thelma is the better looking woman. I don't have a problem with complementing women, I don't hate like some women do. IF a woman is pretty, then she's pretty ain't nothing wrong with saying that. :p
TVFactFan 09-16-2004, 05:26 PM Thelma was attractive in seasons 3, 4, and 5. Willona was attractive in season 5 in my opinion. I wasn't attracted to thelma in season 1 or 2.

Pitooey 09-16-2004, 08:36 PM I think Thelma was the most beautiful of these 2 ladies.
I'm also a female and I do think that Willona was pretty but, I agree with the poster who said that Bernadette was a natural beauty. I went to High School with her and she was a dancer and when she wore her leotard she was a woman all the way.

I think the way Thelma moved her HIPS was a little inappropiate for CBS in the 70's-LOL

I thought Thelma was very pretty; she was kinda of a "Goody Goody" but then again there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, and I think she was a good role model for girls back then..what got me is when JJ had the audacity to say that she was "UGLY..I know, it was supposed to be funny, but coming from him, it was not, because Jimmie Walker was one homely dude....

No matter who it came from it wouldn't have been funny because everyone knew Thelma wasn't ugly.-lol
Pitooey 09-17-2004, 09:14 PM One thing about Thelma.... She had that bun hairdo in High School too. While everyone wore Afros... She had her bun.
She looked nice with the Afro too because later on in Good times she had one.
She still wears her bun because I saw her on a show and she had a bun. If I were to wear a bun my kids would FREAK.............
