I saw one of their videos on VH1 Classic a few days ago, and is it me or were these guys the biggest Morris Day & The Time ripoff? The lead singer was such a Morris wannabe.

I'm not sure about that. I think they've have been around as long as if not before the Time. KC & The Coconuts sort of formed out of Dr. Buzzard Original Savannah Band, who had a disco hit with Cher Chez La Femme. Prince did end up writing a song for them called "The Sex of It". I never really thought of them as being a Time ripoff, but I can see some similarities now that you mentioned it. Do you remember if the video you saw was called "Endicott?"

yep, that's the one. I'm guessing it was made around 1987 or so. The lead singer (Kid Creole?) really reminded me a lot of Morris Day, both in how he sang and also his persona.
