Was home for the holiday yesterday and this came on TVONE, along with the roast beef episode afterwards. Another episode I'd forgotten about. Florida and her nosey self. Trying to match make Willona. It's amazing how people would go on dates, ten minutes after meeting one another. I know I've seen that brotha somewhere else.

i mean, did wologna really need florida's help in getting a date? florida only seemed to go out to church, her women's meeting, worked on and off and was a tad conservative compared to wologna. what kind of men could she possibly know that would be a good fit for wologna? even james' homies at the carwash were probably a little lower than she was shooting for.
wologna worked at apparently popular and happening boutique and had to know more people than her.
i liked the episode where wologna had to very nicely, tell florida about herself, "florida the matchmaker" is the ep. they were in the backroom when wologna told her that she was alone "by choice" but that does not mean that she is "lonely." i think that really made a statement back then, the strong, black independent woman. she can have a career, date around and nobody's the wiser. who said you have to have kids and a husband to be happy.
i can never recall an episode where wologna was down and out about not having a man or a family.
florida was nosey as hell. she use to talk about wologna gossipping but was always the first one wondering what was new down at the boutique.
From Season 2 to the fake preacher man:
"Yes. I'm divorced but no desperate." And she said is so cool and slick. I loved Wologna.

I think Florida just wanted to see Willona happy. She was nosey but it was done out of love.
