Which episode had the most players: Endora, Esmerelda, the Kravitzes etc. I don't thik there were ever any episodes that had just Darrin and Samantha or any that had all the players who were appearing at that particular time.

Episode #118, "Allergic to Macedonian Dodo Birds," has a lot of recurring characters: Sam, Darrin, Tabitha, Endora, Dr. Bombay, Aunt Clara, Gladys, and Abner. #117, "That Was No Chick, That Was My Wife" has Sam, Darrin, Tabitha, Aunt Clara, Serena, Louise and Larry. I think the third and fourth seasons were the best for using a lot of characters in single episodes. There were episodes here and there that only seemed to feature Sam and Darrin, and not Endora, Larry, Gladys, etc.

I don't know what episode had the most recurring characters, but I definately think that besides Samantha and Steven, Endora was next in being in so many episodes. It seems to me that they alternate characters, so I guess they all were regulars..

I read someplace that Agnes Moorehead's contract alloted her to be in 8 out of every 12 episodes so the other players would show up to fill the void left by her not being there, although of course those other characters do appear in a lot of the shows that Moorehead is in as well. Plus having those other characters brings variety to the situations they could present.
Technically, it would seem that the only official regulars were Elizabeth Montgomery, the two Dicks, Moorehead and in the last 3 seasons David White. Today recurring players tend to show up in a set # of episodes per season such as 6 or 13, but someone would have to count to see if any of those numbers apply to any of the players like Marion Lorne or Erin Murphy or Alice Ghostley.

That would explain why I saw Agnes so often. If she wasn;t on the show, then you would more likely see the others.:)
