BowWowsBaby 09-07-2004, 12:20 PM I'm happy that Farenheit 9/11 did so well at the box office...I was never a fan of Michael Moore but after that movie he practically became my hero lol
Superstar 09-07-2004, 12:21 PM The only movies I saw on that list were
Mean Girls
Shrek 2
Princess Diaries 2
The only movies I liked from that list are
Mean Girls
Princess Diaries 2
I thought Shrek 2 was pathetic

Yup!
Very depressing that Troy made more money than Fahrenheit 9/11. Love Michael Moore or hate him, that film is a great achievment and will be watched and argued over for years to come. I don't see anyone wanting to ever sit through Troy again.
Well, except for Peter O'Toole's performance, maybe. Talk about a five star performer in a one star movie. I hope he wins an Oscar for it.

It's amazing how well Shrek 2 did. I haven't seen it yet, but I do like Dreamworks CGI films more than Pixar's, so I'm glad to see Shrek 2 overtaking Finding Nemo.
I thought Spiderman 2 would do better. I thought it would break 400 million easy. I suppose its the law of diminishing returns.
I thought I Robot would do better as well. People raved about it when it was first released. I suppose Wil Smiths annoying overacting has finally got to people. The movie would have been so much better with Wesley Snipes instead.
Hollow 09-16-2004, 12:10 PM they only made that much money because people are st:eyes2:pid
Dutabi84 09-16-2004, 02:20 PM I saw 6 of those top 10, plus a few others that were great. This was one of the best summers movie-wise that we've had in a long time.
barwars 09-19-2004, 11:10 AM I saw....
1. Shrek 2, $436.7M
2. Spider-Man 2, $369.9M
4. The Day After Tomorrow, $186.2M
6. I, Robot, $141.0M

Besides "Troy" and "The Village", I liked them all.
"Shrek 2" was good, but doesnt deserve to be #1. I thought "Spider-Man 2" was much better.
But, the prize of the summer had to be "Anchorman", the best movie of 2004 IMO.

I was expecting the complete opposite. The film was getting very negative pre-buzz and people were expecting it to get terrible reviews. I bet many others are impressed at the figures it ended up making.
...and... LOL @ Wesley Snipes being better than Will in that role.
So I guess they're won't be a "Catwoman 2."
;)
