View Full Version : Best Love/Hate Relationship?
ThirteenInchEscape 09-06-2004, 03:33 AM Sam and Diane without fail
in fact, I can think of anyone who compares. In fact, the whole point of this thread is because I want to see if anyone can think of people who can compare to Sam and Diane for a Love/Hate Relationship
Kristen 09-06-2004, 04:14 AM How about Niles and C.C. on the Nanny? I actually consider myself a Fran/Max fan, but Niles and C.C. are hilarious! For 5 seasons, they pretty much hated each other and insulted one another non-stop, but in season 6, they began ended up getting together, which was strange, but in a way, it made for some great comedy, too.
Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, I thought about them, too, after I posted my original message. I guess you could also call Stan and Dorothy's relationship on The Golden Girls a love/hate.

ITA about David and Maddie. Either them or Sam and Diane from Cheers. I haven't seen Moonlighting in forever but it's one of my all time favorites. There was this one episode when Maddie found out they made money or something and he tells her she's beautiful and then Maddie's like "Get your hand off my behind" I laughed SO hard at that.
barwars 09-06-2004, 04:55 PM Thirteen is right, nothing beats Sam & Diane (in this category at least)
But, I'd also have to say Jerry and Elaine on Seinfeld. Because they both loved and hated eachother, but neither was ever really addressed -- which made it all the more interesting. There really was no relationship, but you knew it was there.

I loved that hate-relation between those 2 in the first 5 seasons, and I hated the very forced totally ridiculous love-relation that *suddenly* occurred in the last season.
