Low Carb lifestyles are all over the place. Magazines, books, classes. Low carb diets have even begun to take over our foodstores. Low carb dressings, low carb ice cream, low carb peanut butter, low carb sodas, low carb Doritos. Frankly, if youre on a diet, you shouldnt be eating the damn Doritos to begin with. Perhaps an apple would be better. They preach about how life changing this diet plan is, but at the end of the day all it is is another diet plan. As soon as you go back to carbs, boom! the weight goes back on. Its a good quick way to lose weight, but in order to mantain it you actually have to keep up with the low carb lifestyle. Im so damn sick of seeing magazine covers every month with new 'LOW CARB RECIPES' and new carb breakthroughs. All I ever see now at grocery stores are low carb foods. You want it, it has a low carb alternative. If youre so eager to lose weight then you do what the doctor tells you: move more, eat less. This all coming from the girl who can eat half a bag of Doritos- full of carbs mind you, but hey Im trying to get back on track.

That is all. Thank you and goodnite. [/bitch mode]

I know. My cousin is on the carb kick and she's all "oh i can eat good things now that i watch my carbs". I'm like just get your ass to the gym you lazy piece of crap. I hate when people want to lose weight and don't even try to do it the right way.

/end rant.

That is simply because nobody wants to hear you are only going to lose weight if you eat healthier and excercise more. But seriously if anything you should cut calories, I mean your body needs carbs for energy.

Like its too hard.

it's weird, i eat so much junk food and i dont gain any weight, so i really dont watch what i eat because i dont have to. except earlier this year i didn't seem to have a lot of energy and my dad thought it was because i wasnt eating enough so he put me on this pill that increased my appetite, and in about 2 months i'd gone from like 125 lbs to 150, and i looked exactly the same as i had before. guess i was just empty :grr: then i wasnt worried about being fat but it felt too uncomfortable to weigh that much so i stopped eating for a few days and then i just told my dad i didnt want to take the damn pill anymore so he let me stop, and i've been dropping weight since. the end.

The only way people are going to get into shape; is to get their fat butts off the couch or away from the computer, and exercise; I eat anything I want and I am in shape, because I take care of my body by running everyday...

Thank GOD I'm not the only one. Low Carb Everything is pissing me off and ruining the world. When freakin fast food goes all carb-conscious, you know it's beyond ridiculous.

And I don't care how much weight a person loses...eating nothing but freakin steak is gonna bite you in the ass (or heart to be specific) in the long run. And I will laugh, because I ATE POTATOS...I ATE BREAD....I ATE HAMBURGERS WITH DAMN BUNS ON THEM!!!!!

The carb diet thing is stupid. I agree that if you want to lose weight then you need to eat healthier and exercise. If it works for me then it can work for anyone.

Best diet solution ever invented:

Getting up off your ass, and, gasp, doing ****.

Hey, it's worked for me so far (You see my complain about my weight, but even THAT isn't as bas as it once way).

I don't see the big deal with carbs, either. Just watch that you don't eat too much junk food like chips and popcorn and stuff and exercise on a regular basis. And drink water a lot because it flushes out the system and also helps a person to lose weight. I'm in good shape because I drink lots of water, probably more than what I've heard is the reccommended amount: about 8 glasses a day. I probably drink about 15 glasses a day. I love water. I also dance quite a bit on a regular basis. I've heard that a person is supposed to exercise for at least half an hour a day. Or, at least close to that. Sometimes I'll exercise for an hour. Sometimes more. Until I get bored. :p

Quick math for those of you that bother to count calories.

In a 20oz Bottle of Pepsi, there is 100 calories per serving. Alright, except, the bottle isn't the serving. The serving is 8 ounces. If you notice, there are 2.5 servings in a bottle.

100 calories becomes 250 calories just like that.

I won't even BOTHER to discuss the amount of calories in fast/fats food...

So true.

The low carb diet stuff is a bunch of crap. Don't believe the hype.
Do some research people, if you cut a major portion of anything out of your diet (like carbs) you will lose weight, but in the long run, it's not a healthy way to live.
Any diet that tells you that red meat is safer than whole wheat bread is BS!

actually, the low carb fad (mostly due to Dr. Atkins' death) seems to be on the wane. In the winter and spring of this past year, it was "low carb this" "low carb that", now reports have said that it's run it's course.

Who really wants to bet when "I Love the 00's" comes on in 2013 or so, we'll see 10 year older versions of Hal Sparks and Michael Ian Black talking about the week they were doing Atkins, and making fun of it?

Let's hope that VH1 doesn't exist anymore by that point.

The only person I know who is on a low carb diet is on it because he has diabetes and has to count carbs to prevent a sugar high.
My mom goes to the store and looks at the carbs in stuff and picks the product with the lowest carbs so that he can eat it. She was picking out sour cream so she could make chip dip and there was 3 different ones to choose from but they were all the same brand name. Regular, Reduced Fat, and Low Carb. She bought the regular because it was the one with the least carbs. All the other stuff that says low carbs actually has more carbs than the regular.

You shouldn't cut carbs out of your diet completly because carbs are the only thing your brain uses to function.

It's a little thing called everything in moderation that people don't seem to get. Carbs are good for you, just not an excess, just like everything else that you eat. People need to realize this before they all start getting heart attacks from eating just steak.

All this garbage they sell now with much less sugar/salt IS NOT HEALTHY...... Our Bodies need sugar for energy and Salt to keep the blood properly regulated so it doesnt go thru your heart too fast.......

Listening to MSM today is not good......

My colin is happier with less carbs overall....I was raised on high carb foods and had a lot of colin cleaning out times.
