View Full Version : Any NIN love? ThirteenInchEscape 09-05-2004, 02:35 AM I'm not detecting any :( Dean Winchester 09-05-2004, 12:44 PM I think Trent Reznor is a genius, except he is notorious for taking way too long of breaks in between albums that a lot of his potential. The Fragile could've been so big if he had released it in 1996 or even 1997, but he waited until 1999, when the era NIN was associated with was "passe" and the album ended up not doing anywhere what it should've done, and now he's been waiting another 5 years, when the hell is his new cd coming out. And the new cd might even do worse because the 2004 scene is so much more different from 1999 than 1999 was with 1994. Tho I'm not a fan of his music, I think (Trent's protege) Marilyn Manson has done a better job in recent years, even tho he's fallen out of fashion a bit, he records more frequently and makes sure he hasn't been forgotten, whereas the last time we've heard from NIN, Backstreet Boys were the biggest group in the world. The type of great music you won't see in todays teen-rock and hip hop wasteland ThirteenInchEscape 09-05-2004, 02:05 PM The Fragile is the only one of his CDs I have, actually, but I am not nearly so interested in The Downward Spiral, the things I have heard off of it are so much below the artistic genius that is The Fragile. I like Manson, and I also really like Orgy alot, Vapor Transmissions is genius, though all the music I have heard off of Punk Static Paranoia is Linkin Park type garbage. It pissed me off so hardcore when the song Hurt got so famous when that talentless hack Johnny Cash remade it (yeah, I said it) ThirteenInchEscape 09-05-2004, 02:14 PM I decided to redo my theme to try and spread the love Dean Winchester 09-05-2004, 02:20 PM Originally posted by ThirteenInchEscape The Fragile is the only one of his CDs I have, actually, but I am not nearly so interested in The Downward Spiral, the things I have heard off of it are so much below the artistic genius that is The Fragile. I am surprised you don't have Downward Spiral. That was THE album to have when I was in 9th grade, alongside Green Day's Dookie. But check this out, I found the greatest desktop theme of all time. http://www.themeworld.com/cgi-bin/preview.pl/themes/tfc1024.zip it comes with a seperate desktop theme for every song on the CD. My only complaints are that it uses the windows traditional bars (so everytime I switch themse I need to change to my XP Platinum), it has sounds (most people like that), and I have to turn the screen saver off everytime I switch, but no big deal, except that it is HARD to decide, most of them have crucial lyrics etc to go with the songs. I'm using We're In This Together right now. seriously, greatest theme set of all time |
