Guys,
Please excuse the large file size. I just wanted to share with true fans some of the fun stuff that has been available over the years, concerning TDVDS.

Steve,
Where did you find that stuff? Is for sale somewhere on the web? The game looks so cool!! I want to buy it!

Kurt,
Unfortunately, I don't own any of this stuff. It's all pics I've collected on the web. I don't know if it's still for sale, but have tried to find out to no avail :( .
The TDVDS t-shirt is the only thing I'm sure you can buy at The Walnut Times (http://www.thewalnuttimes.com)
I'd love to get my hands on some of that other stuff myself, but I suspect it's impossible to find.
Glad to see you're such a Laura fan :loveya: !

I've seen the coloring book a few times on Ebay, and it usually went for somewhere between $25-$30. The dollar bill may be a more recent item because they're always on Ebay aren't expensive either. I've never seen the game or paper dolls--those are cool! The Walnut Times website, in addition to the T-shirt, has a really neat coffee mug with the caricature-type drawing of the cast that was drawn by Dick. I bought that and love it!

Great stuff, especially that game! :D

I've thought about designing some t-shirts, mugs, etc. to sell at my site, but I'm not sure about the copyright issues. I'll have to look into it.

Steve,
I like Laura probably almost as much as you do! ;) That's a lot!

Ebay and the Walnut Times are about the only places fans can purchase DVDS merchandise. "I Love Lucy" and "I Dream of Jeanne" memorablia can be found almost anywhere, but TDVDS stuff is almost impossible to find!

After spending about an hour searching for the game on google, I found this website (http://www.aardwolfgames.com/aardmakehtml.mv?look4=3732.00000&src=DETAILS). The site doesn't give too much information about it, and it's not for sale there either. I wish they would release more DVDS merchandise!

Here's a site I'd been meaning to
post and Steve's thread got me to
get moving. It has twelve comics
(covers and plots) that came out
in the 60s.

www.povonline.com/dvdcomics1.htm

I think it says somewhere the comic's
writer was a Laura fan and had hoped
to meet MTM.

There's also story about the site's
author meeting Morey Amsterdam (top
of the page) and going to see the
rock episode being filmed when he
was twelve. (Stroll down for that
one.) Pretty cool. Sorta puts you
there. I think it's the first
description of this we've seen.

Ohmygod, everybody, go to comic
#11 (walnuts cover) and read the
story of the guy actually meeting
Mary and proposing marriage. It's
totally wacko! I had no idea it was
there until after posting. The
weirdest thing I've ever read about
the show! I'd love to hear Mary's
recollection about this one!

FYI - The merchandise I offer is with the full consent and authorization of Dick Van Dyke, which includes using Dick's drawing on the coffee mug and using his image on the watch I sell. There are definitely ownership and copyright issues which must be addressed before any such merchandise is produced or offered for sale.

Dick, Rose Marie, and Morey Amsterdam's widow approved the use of each of their images on the t-shirt I offer.

Carl Reiner approved on the Commemorative print that I offer.

Truth be told, there is very little DVDS merchandise available from the show.

David,
I'd meant to include that somewhere in this thread for Carrie's benefit. These entertainers and their families have full ownership of their images and creative work, and it is illegal and unethical for anyone to engage in the use or sale of those images and works without their permission.
I suspected some of the stuff I've come acrosss may have been "bootlegged," but it seems you think most of it is.
That's unfortunate.
Thanks for making that point.

Thank you for posting that information. If I do decide to create some things to sell at my site, I will be sure to get permission first. Thanks again. :)

Carrie,
After reading my previous post back to myself, my tone sounds almost scolding. I appologize! I truly didn't mean it to be.
I just didn't want you to go to the time and expense of designing and creating products for our favorite show, only to find that you cannot legally sell them. I have had similar ideas, and have done some research, and wanted to pass it along to you and the rest.
I'm sure neither of us would like to meet Carl Reiner under negative circumstances.
I hope you'll pardon me.

I've noticed that you omitted Mary Tyler Moore from your list of people who've let you use their image. I think I remember hearing once that MTM won't let anyone use her image from the DVD show in anything. Is this true?

When Viacom had the licensing rights for the DVDS in the 1990s, I was told by a gentleman there that Mary had requested that they not use her image.

Well,
I knew our favorite couple was decent, moral people, but Bible lessons from Rob & Laura??? I guess so...

Has anyone seen any TDVDS stickers and/or bumper stickers? I would love to put one on my laptop case! Thanks!
