Ive gotten along without saying it so far, but if it ever comes up, I want to be prepared.

It's so weird to think that 2005 is just right around the corner. When 2004 ends, it means we'll be halfway done with this decade....it feels like just yesterday 2000 was rolling around.

I'm with Tim...I haven't had any problems with it so far, but I want to be prepared if I have to call this decade by a specific name. :)

I think this decade's called the "double oughts" or "oughts." Ought means zero.

And think...."just yesterday" will be when next year's Kindergarten class was born.

(Obligatory Off-topic Comment: Heck, this year's Freshman HS class was born, on average, in 1990)

I've wondered that for awhile too...I just figured, the Oh oh's. :) Probably not but I just don't call it anything...never really had to.

The 1990 part freaks me out a LOT. I mean...Come on. I REMEMBER 1990. It's so weird thinking about the fact that the last of the people that were born in 1989 started HS this year, so there aren't any more kids who were born in the 80's that are starting HS now (give or take a few that got held back, etc). Freaky as hell. :eek:

Technically I did, too...but only the second half of the 80's, and I was still really little when the 80's ended. I did 1985 - 1989. I have a great memory, tho, and I can remember stuff from the 80's. :lol:

If I was trying to tell a story I would say, 'remember back in 02, 03, 04', and so on. In the present tense, though, I don't know what the heck to call it. This decade might get lost in the anals of history just due to the fact that it has no ring of a name.
