I know that Christmas and Thanksgiving are normally skipped in syndication but is there any reason for a New Years Eve Episode to be skipped? And if it is skipped why do certain cable networks skip holiday episodes? Are they not allowed to air them?

It is most likelyt skipped. the stations can air them some just choose not to air them until a holiday.

I received a email from TV Land saying it has to do with contract restrictions.

Well i guess it just depends on a certain Network.

I think there's a clause in contracts where episodes can only air a certain amount of time in a year. I remember hearing something about this, but I'm not positive.

I just thought that only Christmas and Thanksgiving Episodes would be skipped. Not New Years Eve.

i think that it depends on the syndication contract; often those special holiday episodes are licensed out separately so they can be shown on many more stations around the holidays

But A New Years Episode i thought was not really considered a Holiday Episode

i dont think that they should skip any of them - i want to see the Christmas episode in July, when i'm not already sick of Christmas specials :)
