GSN WELCOMES ZIG GAUTHIER AS NEW PROGRAMMING VP
GSN is reaching for another unconventional choice as a vice president of programming.
Zig Gauhirer worked with Valentine at the Sci-Fi Channel and comes to GSN from a role as vice president of creative affairs for Fox Sports Net.
At Sci-Fi, Valentine and Gauthier developed such shows as "Scare Tactics" and "Mad House", tipping a clue of the network's continued shift toward more game operas and unconventional shows and tilting to an end of the traditional game show.
"BLACJACK", "DODGEBALL" BACK IN OCTOBER: In a programming announcement Thursday, GSN announced the new cycles of "Celebrity Blackjack" and "Extreme Dodgeball" will begin October 12th.
Forty celebrities will compete for a potential top prize of $300,000 in the "Blackjack" finals.
The five-member Dodgeball teams will be grouped according to the regions from which they originate. Some of the summer teams, such as Ink, Inc., and certified Public Assassins may be continued in the new tournament.
