I'm a 70's Fanatic and love all the shows and TV shows from that era. I wish i had came along during that time to see

1970-79 to me, is Defintely the best era of American Television.

1980-1989

1960-69 had a lot of my favorite shows but I agree, the 1970s were the best era.

1970-79 was the best era of tv period.

The 70s had more shows I liked than any other era (besides the 90s, but thats not in the poll).... but the 80s had the best, IMO.

The 50s were the worst. (good quality, bad quantity)

But yeah, 70s is my pick. With the 80s right behind and the 60s VERY close behind it. 50s is behind the 60s and 90s is a stone's throw away from the 50s. The 2000s....whew....they're somewhere, but I think I'd prefer the 1900s over the 2000s...

1980-1989 IMO the 80's had some of the best shows :D

Probably 1980-89 because my two favorite shows were airing during that decade. Happy Days from 1980-1984 (Some of the best episodes) and MacGyver from 1985 and on.

It had some of my fav. shows such as Whos the Boss?, The Facts of Life, Family Ties, ect.

The 70s are my favorite and I consider the 80s a close extension of them.

1970-1979as a great era for TV so cheesy, so fun,and I did get to see BOTH the Jackson 5 AND Donny & Marie varity shows during original airing Ah memories :D

I'm still looking for TV Shows with the Jackson Five from 1970-1975. I haven;t have any luck though but i'm confident i will find some before 2005.

1970 - 1979.. no question about it. :woohoo:

1970-79 especially 1970 - 1975. Sitcoms, drama and variety rocked.

1970-1979 ranks first, with 1960-1969 a close second. So many classic, brilliant shows debuted during the 1970s that it just has to top the listing, but the 1960s had their share of iconic shows.

1970-1979, most of the shows in this era had some of best groundbreaking TV preformances in television history, not to mention Norman Lear.

1970 - 1979! It had the best TV SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1970-1979 lots of good shows like Happy Days, All In The Family, Welcome Back Kotter, etc.. the other time periods were good but not as good as the 70-79 era

I'm gonna say 1960-69 best- 1970-79 second (maybe those two tied)? And than the 80's and the 50's I liked too! I guess I know more of the shows from the 80's is why I picked it over the 50's, but the 50's had I Love Lucy and Leave it to Beaver which I love, started in the 50's!

After 1990 TV (and music) kind of fell apart IMO!!!

1970s decade are ok for me, 1980s are best. 1990s are good. im more interested in more modern sitcoms era in 2000s/2010s.

I actually have to look up and see which shows I liked from which decades.

The 1970's for me, so many great shows from that time period. The 1960's would be a close second.

I think the 60's was the best decade for TV, and the 70's was the best decade for music.

50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s all have wonderful sitcoms but if I had to pick just one it's probably be the 80s because of "Mama's Family".

I'd also have to go with the 80's. I have so many favorite shows from that era, Full House started, Mr. Belvedere, Cheers, The Hogan Family, and of course Perfect Strangers!

That is so true!! ;) Not only were the new shows in the 70's good, but the good reruns from the 60's were still being shown! :) Even the 50's!! I love Lucy was always on! And you didn't have to pay an arm and a leg for cable back than to watch all these great shows!!! ;)

During the 70's, I watched very little "70's" TV. I remember watching Emergency! weekly on NBC, and I'd watch Mary Hartman nightly during it's first season, in the second season I lost interest in it. I watched All In The Family occasionally, but not every week. The weekday morning game shows of the 70's were fun to watch, I'd watch some of those whenever I was home. The majority of my TV watching time in the 70's was spent watching sports, movies, and repeats of favorite shows from the 60's and 50's.

One thing that was cool about 70's TV was many of the commercials that aired during that time. Some of those commercials were a hoot and better than many of the TV shows. :lol: I remember the "Me and My RC" ad campaign, there were several different commercials with the slogan "Me and My RC". My favorite was the "Stock Car" one. It was posted on You Tube the last time I checked.

The 1960-69, 1970-79 & 1980-89 eras were very good
