A: "The Jeffersons," "Benson," and "The Facts of Life."
On Jan. 18, 1975, Archie Bunker's riotous neighbors George (Sherman Hemsley) and Louise (Isabel Sanford) Jefferson moved on up from "All in the Family" to their own sitcom, "The Jeffersons," and ran with it for 253 episodes. The CBS sitcom beat its source series by 43 episodes. (For the record, 1979's "Benson," a "Soap" spinoff based on a butler played by Robert Guillaume, ran for 158 episodes, while its parent show hit only 85. In addition, "Diff'rent Strokes" was popular enough to play 189 episodes but not popular enough to beat its 1979 spinoff "The Facts of Life," which lasted 209 episodes.)
