I prefer nothing at all, I dont like to be told when to laugh.

it seems some studio audiences are more annoying than others, like That 70's Showis apparently in front of a studio audience, and it is the worst ever for people laughing at stupid crap

Studio Audience. Once in awhile I'll find a sitcom without one I like but their's not many.

something like Friends or Roseanne benefitted from the studio audience laughter... but a show like Arrested Development, Scrubs, Malcolm In The Middle or Sex And The City wouldn't work as effectively if we have lame "insert laugh track here" clips

I'd rather have none. I don't need to be told when to laugh. But the presence of studio audiences don't bug me.

It's laugh tracks I hate. They're an insult to our intelligence.

I prefer none, what I really dislike is some shows at the beginning they announce this show was taped before a live studio audience, as opposed to a dead studio audience.

I prefer Studio Audience , without it the show feels empty , Its like you are in a cinema and You think something funny happens and you would laugh but you would feel weird since you are the only one laughing - thats what Its like without an auidence.

I do not always laugh when the audience laughs , But i never find it annoying , What annoy's me is people Clapping or WOO!ing at stupid times.

count me in as someone who prefers having the producer being able to respect their audience and letting them figure out the moments they are going to laugh or not... instead of having "Hi" (hahahaha) "How are you?" (hahahaha).

Friends was probably the most guilty culprit of this in it's latter seasons. Basically "Joey's line" (hahahaha), "Ross says something back" (hahahahahaha), "Joey says something else" (hahahaha). Do you really think your audience is that stupid that they can't point out the moments when they're going to laugh or not?

Laugh tracks served their purpose and had their day, but nowadays, they take away from the episodes because too much time is spent laughing that the characters have to take a few seconds to respond to them, whereas on a show like Arrested Development, something funny happens, and you don't have to worry about an annoying laugh track taking as much as one minute out of a scene.

My favorite series are all in front of studio audiences, but I also like no laughing at all.

As for laughtracks, they suck.
But what really sucks is laughtracks used on shows where there IS a studio audience.

Studio Audience is much better, shows with no studio audience just seem fake. Studio Audience laughter can be catching :lol:

Somebody commented on shows which have Studio Audiences but use laugh tracks , they Gotta because some times the audience laugh is too long to use ( and I bet sometimes too short)

Then they shouldnt use any at all. Especially if the studio audience is too short, because then they're just telling us when to laugh which is stupid.

I don't understand why people assume that if there is a studio audience, the producers are telling us when to laugh. Wouldn't you like to see your favorite show being taped (or filmed) before your eyes? That's why studio audiences are there. So they can see it live, so they can see the show before regular home viewers. If they laugh, it's a good thing, it means the show is funny and that the audience is enjoying themselves. I don't know if they can just edit it out or not, but it why should they? Studio audience laughter is such a tradition in sitcoms.

They aren't telling us when to laugh, the whole time.
But even on the funniest series, fake laughter is added at certain points. (Im willing to bet every producer ever will admit to this)

It seems natural, in that they are (excuse the Darma for one hooey) are lauging at the same things that we are laughing at.

but because this is TV, the audience needs something to say "here's a laugh". otherwise they don't know a joke when they see it,

and they should use studio audience but then if they don't get the joke a laugh track comes in, so it really doesnt matter.

they can still tape shows in front of audiences and NOT tape the audience.

Laughtrack. I hate live audience. Too much hooting and wooing! I hate it!:mad: The live audiences of the 50's and 60's were ok though.:)

I don't mind studio audience, but I could live without it. As for the laugh track; I can't stand it and it can get very irriatating and annoying at times; especially in cartoons.

I picked Studio Audience,it just seems more natural to me........
