LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Raven Symone is making a big return to primetime television.

The 18-year-old star of Disney Channel's "That's So Raven," who started her career at age 3 on NBC's "The Cosby Show," has inked a rich development deal with ABC.

Under the one-year pact, said to be in the high-six-figure range, the network will develop a series project for Symone targeted for fall 2005.

While Symone is known mostly for her comedic talents, the actress is said to be open to both half-hour and one-hour concepts for her ABC show.

One of the ideas being floated is to develop a show around a grown-up version of her character on "That's So Raven," a teenager who often finds herself in hilarious situations because of her ability to receive psychic visions of the near future.

The idea of translating successful series from sibling Disney Channel to ABC is not new.

Last year, the network tried to develop a Lizzie-in-high-school sitcom based on Disney Channel's "Lizzie McGuire," but the idea fell apart when star Hilary Duff departed the Walt Disney Co. in May 2003.

"That's So Raven," now in its third season, is the highest-rated series on Disney Channel. Because of its popularity, the comedy will become the cable channel's first series to surpass 65 episodes. Disney Channel has ordered 13 additional episodes, bringing the total order to 78.

In addition to "That's So Raven," Symone has a recurring voice-over role on Disney Channel's animated series "Kim Possible."

She also starred in "The Cheetah Girls," Disney Channel's biggest movie ever, which also spawned a platinum-selling soundtrack. On the big screen, Symone co-stars in "The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement."

Her album, "This Is My Time," is slated for release Sept. 21 from Disney's Hollywood Records.

YAY! I knew about the show being extended to 78 episodes but I didn't hear about this at all! I'm posting this on RO right away!

after sharing this with a few people they've decided to say something like this isnt big news, it's only 13 more episodes blah blah

but im sorry this is big news, 13 episodes is better than nothing, and since their toying with the idea of her character being older in the ABC sitcom thing, maybe they show could go on abc period.

grr. why can't people just find the good in stuff

i think of course 'raven' along with 'kp' deserve more than 65 episodes, they could each last over 100. im sure.

but thankfully, their extending one by some episodes and POSSIBLY/Hopefully re-tool it for ABC

This is good news, I hope they put it on ABC, becasue maybe they can have a more mature look on things. And it could have a more defined story plot.

Great, now I don't have to stay glued to Disney just to see new episodes of the show:D. Sorry for the people who can't stand TSR, I think it's a really enjoyable show, and I've only seen like 1 or 2 eps where Raven overacted. She's a pretty natural comedian to me.

But people that dont like TSR shouldn't even be coming here...we have nothing to be sorry for Nikki!

Since abc is gona try to match up the charatcter with her actual age........do you think that people like eddie and chelsea, and others should stay on the show or should they have new characters close to raven's age?

No, I'm so used to seeing those three together. I don't think it would be the same without Anne, and plus the relationship is pretty cute between the three.

I would like to see Eddie more serious with the girls. Maybe since it'll be on Primetime, they'll touch up on more mature but not cliche situations. It's just so silly on Disney, I usually only watch it for laughs or to see what Raven has on.

I'm glad they are extending That's So Raven. Hopefully it does get a spot on ABC, and we see a more mature show instead of corny little things.

But, my one little problem is that I wish they would of extended Even Stevens. I believe its the better show. Thats my opinion obviously not yours. But I am still glad Thats So Raven is being extended.

Also, for the people who said Lizzie didn't get extended well it would have, and another movie would have been made. But, Hilary backed away because of Disney not offering enough green. Thats So Raven may be the most popular now but is not more popular than Lizzie McGuire. Even though I feel TSR is the better show. Lizzie is really corny.

I thought Disney had a 65 episode limit for their shows......I read that awhile back like two years ago.....Though I'm glad Raven will be on a little longer

Plus I happen to think Lizzie MCguire is a cute show and I thought the outakes were funny......What is with people trashing one show to support another.....

Well, I don't like LM, frankly because HD annoys me when she's acting, although I lvoe her music.....I'm trashing LM to support TSR, I genuinely don't like it, but I won't do that again here, I'm sorry:(
