If I've made a mistake anywhere, please correct me.

In season 2, Cory was in 7th and 8th grade. I know that becasue of the episode where he runs for 8th grade president.

Actully in Season 2 Cory was in 7th, 8th and 9th Grade. Season 3 he was in 10th grade, Season 4 11th grade, and so on

He wasn't 9th grade in season 2. They never showed his freshman year, I think.

Michael Jacobs said that Cory, Shawn and Topanga skipped 2 and a half grades, first Season he was def. in 6th, and Season 2 def. 7th, cause Eric goes(in the episode back 2 school) "if anyone finds out I'm related to a 7th grader it would ruin my rep."

but He was in 7th and 8th in Season 2, which was actually the start of high school, some high schools start at 7th grade :)

I think it's probably because in the first season the actors were a bit older than their characters, so I think they decided to age the characters to the real ages as the actors :)
