OMG pineapple juice that is funny! No but everytime I get oranges from the supermarket I am very careful, and I always think about Selina whenever I have a cornbeef sandwich. I agree with you regarding old pa, especially the scene where they have the fight and Selina gets sick, and old pa tells her he would like to clean it up but he just doesn't have the strength. And he would go and get her from the park, even though he was drunk. And you know he cares for her when he doesn't challenge the fact that Selina leave with Poitier, he knows its for the best. The story is told from the perspective of a 13 year-old boy whose older brother is murdered by a gang member. It was quite good, if rather depressing. A total pisswadd of a movie if I ever did see a pisswadd movie. I used to like Natalie Portman. Now, she's got some work to do! Never had any opinion one way or the other about the guy, Zach Braff, who wrote, directed and starred in it I do now. He's a schlock writer, actor and director, and he's hard to look at in a way that isn't like looking at an ugly person. It's more like when you look at someone who is so stupid that it's scary. That is how he came off to me. Natalie Portman was supposed to be believable falling for that guy. That, all by itself, was a stretch to the breaking point. Gawdawful movie! It was good but there were a few things that undermined it. This is a film about a man seeking revenge against kidnappers who murdered a girl he was hired to protect after a botched delivery left the boss' nephew dead. Good premise. But revenge movies have been done to death a gazlillion times ever since the concept was brought to fruition. We've seen many movies about guys seeking revenge against those who did wrong to them and this one isn't any different. The second thing that held it back was the payback. This guy kills anyone who was involved with the kidnappers. He cuts off this one guy's fingers then shoots him. He kills another individual using a bomb put in <use imagination here>. It's like we see a nice, wholesome individual become a murderous machine. Shades of Death Wish. We're seeing two different characters. The first half estalishes the relationship of the man with this girl and the next half becomes something that has been hashed to death ever since movies were made: a man swearing vengeance and getting the people who caused him and his loved ones wrong. Good movie. However it is an average film considering the premise and the plot. 2.5 out of 4 The Modfather 10-02-2004, 06:30 PM A Hard Days Night Nighthawk76 10-03-2004, 01:07 AM Notorious phoebe7165 10-03-2004, 02:57 AM Princess Bride(for the 40 billionth time) Cactus Jack 10-03-2004, 08:34 AM SNL The Best OF Will Ferrell Brian Damage 10-03-2004, 11:04 AM The Rundown G-Force Glockstar 10-03-2004, 02:25 PM Something about fear of spiders.
