In the episode where Becky and Mark move into the trailer...

in the scene where Dan is telling Bob and Fred that they should give all the overtime work to Mark. Dan says "I bet the bottom of this table could use a little paint" he lifts up the table a little and knocks off the car part at the end of the table. Bob picks it up and says "forget about the table dan, what about this carborator?" and the audience laughs.

Can someone please explain this joke to me? I just don't get it.

and in the same episode, after Roseanne finished talking with that lady at the trailer park, Darlene says "man was she a snob" and the audience laughs. I didn't think it was funny. Was it supposed to be?

they were saying they should give mark extra work, so they broke the carborator on purpose so that Mark would have more extra work.

for the first one, people laughed because your NEVER supposed to put paint on the carborater, so they were laughing at Bob's stupidness.

for the 2nd one. people laughed because roseanne was being hypocritical.

i don't think so... bob looked very puzzled when he said "well what about this carborator". and DAN broke the carborator by tipping the table, not bob.
