Sadly, many TV series have been abandoned with only 1, maybe 2 Seasons released on DVD??

What abandoned series do you want unabandoned most??

even tho I don't like it enough to buy, I find it unacceptable a show as classic as Mary Tyler Moore has been abandoned just because Fox doesn't make Simpsons/Buffy/Family Guy cash off it.

If anything, I think Image or somebody should buy the DVD rights off Fox since Fox apparently thinks so little about it

Mine are:
Mad About You (2 out of 7)
The Larry Sanders Show (1 out of 6)
The Jeffersons (2 out of 11)

But Most Importantly:
Mary Tyler Moore (1 out of 7)

It really irks me when studios release one or two seasons of a show and then just quit and this is one example. Finish what you start. If it isn't too expensive, then they should go the extra mile and release the later seasons. I can tell you that the later seasons of that show are much better than the first season.

A year or so ago, S.W.A.T., a two season series, had a first season DVD release but there hasn't been any news on a second season. That's insane.

I don't know if it has been abandoned but I haven't heard of any news about a Green Acres Season 2 release.

I find it funny that SWAT didn't have a season 2 release, even if season 1 didn't sell all that well. It's only a 2 season series, releasing a second volume shouldn't be all that big a hinderence.

Does anyone know stats on the Columbia DVD's (like what do they deem "good enough" to warrant a season 2 release, and even a season 3), also I wanna know exactly what Mary Tyler Moore sold considering Fox makes it out like it's sales are so beyond terrible, seriously, did it sell 7 copies? I think 40-50k copies is reasonable for an older series. Older sitcoms are going to have a lower profile on DVD than something like Friends or Sex And The City, so the company shouldn't be ticked off if something like Mary doesn't sell 400k copies like Friends or Sex does.

That's my list, too.

I haven't bought "Mad About You" and "Larry Sanders" because they've been abandoned. If I hear news that any more seasons are coming out, I'll be sure to pick up all those seasons of the above named shows.

They've already made the second season set of MTM, but for some reason haven't released it yet. Once it comes out, I'm sure it will sell better than the first. Some fans might buy more than 1 copy just in hopes of s season three release.

Also "Son of the Beach". The show had 43 episodes. Volume 1 had the first 21 episodes. They say they have no plans to release a volume 2. My thoughts would be that Volume 2 could release 22 episodes and that it would be the final volume. But NOOOOOOO!

Makes me wonder if Colombia Tri Star will ever release Silver Spoons, I read that they don't think the show has "enough of an audience" to be released

The Jeffersons. I think the DVD companies should commit to releasing all the season, before releasing any season, maybe that way we would not get abandoned series.

Ok, now I'm going to comment on this..

They don't think Silver Spoons has enough of an audience to be released - Where the hell were they 20 years ago? It most certainly does and if they don't release it, shame.. shame on them. ohno:

would it be a little preliminary to call Green Acres and Mister Ed abandoned? didn't both come out in the late spring?

I know, the show is still popular, and has a big fanbase, it's def a show that will sell well since it hasn't been in syndication in a LONG time :)

Angela, I didn't recognize you at first. Nice choice!

Exactly right! If it's released there are going to be so many people picking that sucker it up, it won't even be funny. Silver Spoons is one I'd be very proud to own. :)

Obviously it'd be great to see Rick Schroder and Alfonso again - but let's not forget Menudo! I thought they were the best thing since sliced bread. :faint:

DEFINATELY Mary Tyler Moore! Fox didn't do enough advertising for the first season DVDs when it came out, which is a part of the low sales.
