today a guy I sometimes talk to IM'd me, and then he started getting cranky wanting to know exactly what I was doing and why I wasn't racing to his reply every minute (and I'm talking, 2 minutes passed on the timestamp, I went outside to get the mail, then I came back with "why are you ignoring me?"). Does this happen to anyone else and does it also annoy the living hell out of you as well? Most of the people I chat with online can accept the fact that I use the internet to learn things I've never learned, for help with college, and for fun... but some people assume that every minute you're online and not with an away message that automatically you must devote them all your energy and attention, even if I'm doing 3 things at once.
People like that suck, lol.

UGH people like that are so annoying. None of my friends do that, but sometimes someone will get a hold of my name from somewhere and they start asking where I am and stuff. Meangya.

I have AIM but I have it set so that only people on my Buddy List can see me or contact me. I had to do this because someone kept IMing me over and over again wanting to chat. I'm not one to chat a lot. The only time I use AIM is to contact the SO administrators or discuss Fantasy Sports transactions or anything related to the subject. I asked him to leave me alone but he wouldn't respect my wishes so I decided to set it so I could only be contacted or seen by people I trust. It has worked wonders. Because of this, I am never giving out my AIM name on these boards.

I hate it, some peopleare just like that.
I often dont reply for as much as 5 minutes, and I almost never say BRB unless I will be gone for a while, sometimes I just dont reply till I have something to say.
some people are far too annoying

There's one reason I hate IM. With message boards, I can reply whenever the hell I want.
I like Yahoo better though because you can put certain people on permanent invisible, so they'll never know if you're on.
