The Evans Family was at the table eating ham and Thelma said-"this ham is so good, "I feel sorry for rich people because you have to be poor to appreciate a meal this good"

HUH????????????-LOL

What good times writer thought of that stupid statement?

I kinda get it.We've been kinda struggling the last couple of months and when we finally were able to get some groceries,we were SOOO happy and reallly appreciated it.Other times when we were doing better we just kind of took it for granted. You know what I mean?(I'm not a good explainer:crazy: )

Yeah, I know what Thelma is talking about. ALot of rich folks, don't appreciate a good meal. They could finally afford something other than greens and oatmeal.

Well maybe they should have had her say, "I bet rich folks wouldn;t never appreciate a good meal like this" instead of "I feel sorry for rich people"-LOL

i totally got that point. they are so excited about being "ham happy" b/c it is a true treat for poor people with the price of meat back then.

"Baby, that's a Sunday meal. What you do, hijack a grocery store"?

One thing about that hypertension episode was pork chops and chitterlings? For a meal. At the same time. I love both, but give me one side of pork at a time. Nevertheless, they were pleased.

she was going to cook up a hellofalot of food just to make him calm down.

"aw james...this little bit of food ain't gone put us anymore closer to the poor house than we already are."

did she even get a chance to cook all that food? shortly after she was putting up the groceries he complained of a headache then ultimately went into a rage and broke that chair, kicked open the bedroom door and slammed it shut. florida ends up shaking like a leaf at the table before the scene ends.

"i ain't sick. i ain't upset......"

probably coulda used a spoonful of collard greens and pork chops right then!

I guess the point is. If you dont eat something for a long time it taste real good.

If you can have whatever you want when you want the appreciation is not there.

I happen to personally love Sweet Potato Pie.

I hear ya. I love peanuts. I went to the Jets game last night and bought a bag and they tasted horrible.

The amount of money for ballpark food you would think it would taste like nector from the gods!!

Man,its like 4 bucks for small not that great popcorn, another 4 bucks for a small pepsi that'll barely quench your thirst...you gotta go into hock just for a fun time out anymore!Oh,and don't get me started on concerts!

` Well going out is always expensive. But you gotta live right?

Enjoy the fruits of your labor. And dont worry about the expense so much.

My point is if you pay alot for a snack it should taste great. And you are right. Movie Theater Popcorn isn't up to snuff most of the time. And heaven forbid you bring in your own snack!!

The Movies are great in the winter. Next year there are some real blockbusters that will be in theaters.

Maybe they will do a GOOD TIMES movie someday!!
