I wonder how many viewers still stuck with the show after being placed on a 5 month hiatus in jan of 1978. When placed back on the schedule in June of 78 i would think the show's fan base was pretty much gone.

I still watched it cuz I liked the show & Ed Brown & Louie. But is wasn't the same without Chico. Raul was cute & precocious kid but he could never filll Chicos shoes...

I guess the last season proved that it was the combination of Freddie and Jack's talents that carried the show. It was the love and respect they had for each other that made the difference in the end.
