View Full Version : Something funny I've notcied with people I know who like Cheers.
Chocoholic 08-26-2004, 07:47 PM Most people I know who prefer the Diane years like Frasier better than Wings and those who prefer the Rebecca years like Wings better than Frasier. Has anyone else ever noticed that with other people? I know it's not always the case. It's certainly true for me. I love the Rebecca years of Cheers much better than the Diane years and I'd much rather watch Wings than Frasier. (I loved Frasier when it first came out, but I lost interest shortly after Wings ended its run in 1997 and just never could back into it.)
Chambers 08-26-2004, 07:53 PM Haha I've heard of this theory before (I think it was from you), and I believe it's true for me as well.
MaydayMalonesGirl 08-26-2004, 09:11 PM I never noticed that. Thats not how I am... I prefer the Diane years and like Wings more than I like Frasier.
spunkygirl 08-26-2004, 09:30 PM Not me I like the Diane years, and love Wings :D
CheersChild4life 08-26-2004, 10:06 PM I like the Rebecca years(though I do not like Rebecca very much I just like the writing better and the cast just seemed more comfortable with eachother) and I prefer Frasier over Wings.
Brian Damage 08-27-2004, 11:48 AM The Diane Years were better in my opinion and Frasier was a much better show than Wings.

Me too. I watched Wings rabidly the first few years it was on, so I like Wings over Frasier...Oh yeah, and I prefer the Diane years, as well. :D

Yep, I do! :D
I can't watch Wings now, though, because it isn't captioned on N@N. :livid:
I used to watch Wings every single morning when it was on USA and I was getting ready for school. I always had to have a bit of Wings before I went to school. That was when I was in 3rd - 4th grade. I can't remember if I watched the USA reairings of Wings after that, though. And it was captioned then.
If N@N's copies of Wings was captioned like it originally was, I would DEFINITELY watch again. :D

I'm guessing you're hearing impaired? (havnt been around long enough to know these things)
And I have never really watched Wings, so maybe I should watch a few episodes and get back to you all :D
Chambers 08-28-2004, 02:25 PM ThirteenInchEscape, I think you have just made barwars' "perfect taste" list.
ThirteenInchEscape 08-28-2004, 02:27 PM LMAO, the best thing was "Mr. Monk and the Airplane" when Sharona meet's the guy from Wings, and then Adrian says "I dont think I've ever seen it" (referring to Wings)

Wings is awesome, I recommend it highly :D
I love the episodes of Wings with Cliff and Norm and then Frasier and Lilith were on another, and Rebecca Howe appeared for a few minutes on an episode of Wings.
All in all Wings rocks :D

But the episode with Frasier and Lilith on Wings was the best of the series, IMO.
Everything about it was perfect.
That's one of the first episodes I saw - the one that made me think I could start liking the show. But...then I realized they weren't all like that and was kinda disappointed. It's a good sitcom - just not something for which I'd make the time to watch.

But as for Norm and Cliff -- very good, I loved it.

Yep that episode of Wings ironically made me a Frasier fan(that got me to watching Cheers more)
The one with Rebecca was later in the series, she was only on for a short time, she was trying to get into see Clint Black at a party he was having after his concert at a hotel :D

I read the quickly and thought you saw the light of the SHOW Frasier, but I understand.
What year was the Rebecca episode??
If its after 93, I'll kill Kirstie Alley.

According to IMDb.com it says Feb. 1993, but I don't know how accurate that is though IMDb.com isn't the most reliable

Yeah, I am. I don't talk about it too much on here, but I don't keep it a secret, either. Pretty much everybody here knows that I am indeed hearing impaired :)
I NEED captions. Otherwise, I just skip right over a TV show.
PZelda 08-28-2004, 03:30 PM Originally posted by barwars
Hopefully it'll be captioned when it comes to DVD.
(I know Paramount captions all of their sets, but they dont have subtitles)
It should be. It was captioned in its original run, so they should already have a copy of that on file...All they would have to do is clean up the picture a little and then they're good to go. :)
I'm not a big fan of subtitles. :o

I'm hearing-impaired myself. I can hear enough so I don't usually have to rely on closed-captioning.
I recommend Wings to anyone who hasn't seen it. It's such a funny and under-rated sitcom. I know it's not for everyone, but we can't all like the same shows :D

Paramount must have given N@N tapes of Wings without the captioning. It's weird that all their shows but Wings are CC

Hmm, I taped WTB the other day and Wings came on right after (it was a 2am Central airing that I'd taped), and it was captioned.
Hmmm...Is somebody from Paramount here and reading my posts?

 I wonder if they were hiding behind the couch ;)
I've seen networks do that with some shows one day it's captioned one day it's not ohno:

OOh I hope they ARE! Because then they'll read about how much we want a reunion!
