Why is this man so hated and joked on? I just dont get it. Im not this big huge Teshy girl or anything, but he is talented. I saw him on Conan way back when and he was funny. I loved his NBA theme.

He's talented. He gets joked about, I think, because he gained fame not as a musician, but an Entertainment Tonight anchor.

He really has a good sense of humor about himself, though.

Sorry not a fan of Teshy. I was an intern during his time at ET and he was so mean and rude. Mary Hart was really friendly, and she is just as bubbly in person as she is on television, Liza Gibbons was so wonderful to me.

I like Tesh's music. I'm a fan of new age music. I really love Yanni too. I saw him in concert years ago, and he was incredible.

As Joe Queenan wrote, John Tesh is the Sultan of Suck, offering upp lame, cliche-ridden "smooth jazz" wit hthe belief that he is making major contributions to music.

Queenan also wrote that Tesh proves how inifinite the capacity for self-deception is. While Howard Cosell realized that he was a schmuck, he at least died realizing the truth about himself. John Tesh, alas, won't. Queenan wrote that even though Jay Leno burns his CD's on The Tonight Show, even though Buffy the Vampire Slayer identifies Tesh as the Devil, and even though a whole generation of Americans use the words Tesh and lame interchangeably, "he is unaware of the ill will he generates. He is almost supernaturally vacant." :p

"John Tesh, like diphtheria, will be everywhere." - Joe Queenan

That's one person's opinion. Quite a nasty writer at that. I'm sure John Tesh receives many good reviews as well. He's earned four Emmy Awards so he's doing something right.

When Tesh played Carnegie Hall in 1997, Joe Queenan remarked that seeing Tesh perform on the same stage that had been occupied by Vladimir Horowitz and Arthur Rubenstein was liking looking at picutres of Adolf Hitler goose-stepping through the streets of Paris after the fall of France.

"Say what you will," Queenan wrote, "Hitler had better taste in music."
