"Me And My Family" stars Sarah Jessica Parker as Kate Morgan, a faithful wife and a loving mother. Kate Morgan is working as a bank teller, until she got laid off. Kate lives in her Buffalo home with her husband of 10 years, Eric Morgan (Matthew Broderick) and their three children: Andrew Morgan, 8, Lacey Morgan, 5, and James Morgan, 2. Kate's husband, Eric is a dentist. Kate and Eric (and Andrew, Lacey, and James) welcomed Kate's younger flakier sister, Paige Lauderdale (Jennifer Aniston). Paige helps out with the kids, the chores, and putting her two-cents worth in no matter when (when they need it and when they dont). Kate and Paige's newly-divorced mother, Janet Lauderdale (Bette Midler) often drops by, after moving into an apartment complex near the Morgan household. Janet, without knowing this, moved into the apartment across the hall from Eric's widowed mother, Elaine Morgan (Dixie Carter). Elaine feels threatened by Janet and does not want to lose her title as the kids's "favorite grandma", ever since Janet moved in town. Janet and Elaine are constantly competeing against each other to see who can really spoil the grandkids more than the other. Also, Janet is constantly asking Paige when she is going to find a man, get married, and give her grandkids like Kate did, which drives Paige crazy. Kate now being jobless, is in constant pressure to find a good-paying job..which just so happens to conflict with Eric having a mid-life crisis and wanting a career change.
