Over Penny. I don't think Willona wanted to explain the birds and the bees to Penny. I remember Florida delivering a great line. Something like, "Goodbye Mother Goose. Has one child, but doesn't know what to do". I haven't watched it in years, but can remember dying when she first said it.

GREAT episode! Wasn't it something about Penny had a friend that was pregnant and Wologna was telling her she had the stomach mumps? LOL
Remind me b/c I don't know what happened in the episode to finally convince her to have a sit down talk with her. Did Penny come into the house after being roughed up and some boy was trying to freak on her or something? Her ratty sweater was beat up and that hair was wild? I may be mixing episodes.
I just remember Florida telling her, "NOW, Wologna. NOW!" And Wologna was almost in tears like, "OK, Flo. OK" and rushed her out of the apartment to talk to her. But I'm not 100% sure what happened in between. Can someone confirm this episode?
Can you think of any other fights/disagreements between them? Offhand I can't.
BTW: I added some more dialogue like you requested. Pick it up where I left off.....

Yeah some boy was all over her in the elevator.
I must say, though,I thought it was out of character for Wilona being afraid to talk to Penny about sex.She seemed so sensible and she was helpful to Florida's kids when they were younger,I think she even told her to loosen up a couple times.
Good episode,tho!
You may dispute me on this one but here's what i think:
Throughout the show, Willona was a swinging single living a carefree dating life. People saw this as her out of control time. But her attitude and her life changed when Penny entered her life. Penny inspired Willona to change her lifestyle. Willona must have realized that the way she lived her life as a swinging single was damaging to her and now that she was a mother, she was willing to put her old life behind her. Especially since the child support people were watching her every move.
Willona loved Penny more than life itself and she would have died if anything ever happened to Penny. That quality was evident in "A Matter of Mothers" episode.
I think that when Willona refused to talk to Penny about sex, she was afraid that Penny would take this info and end up like she used to be, looking in all the wrong places for love. Willona was just trying to set a good example for Penny. I was just trying to see the situation in Willona's POV. What do you think?
