View Full Version : First Season On DVD Trishalla 08-24-2004, 12:57 AM anyone heard about a first season of the odd couple on DVD if you do let me know. Brian Damage 09-06-2004, 06:30 PM Sadly, nothing. I was pretty sure that with the death of Randall, they might expedite the DVD, but alas nothing. SoapLuver 11-27-2004, 05:33 AM This is one of the shows I'd LOVE to have on DVD. Paramount has released Happy Days and Laverne & Shirley (which were bigger initial hits, but no more classic than Odd Couple). I too thought with Randall's passing, that plans for the DVD release would take shape. FredandFelix 12-04-2004, 04:33 PM Whomever has the rights to the Odd Couple episodes is keeping a real tight hold on them, that's for sure. You hardly see them anywhere on TV at all, and there is no sign of a DVD set in sight. Being nothing has yet been released officially on DVD tells me that there must be some type of disagreement either on authorizing their release, or who will make how much when they are finally released. w6xrl4 01-07-2005, 09:31 AM What is troublesome about the Odd Couple is that it was available on VHS through a Columbia House subscription for years with no problems at all. Now with DVD the format of choice, there is this great debate over rights to the show and the whole thing looking like a legal mess. If money is the issue (and it always is) then the owners should be aware that pirated home burned season sets are popping up on ebay because of the demand for the show and the delay in getting this show off the ground. If they want to stop these inferior bootlegs and redirect the money where it belongs then they should get to work on this right away. Just my 2 cents…….. :happyface Jack1000 01-25-2005, 05:55 PM Guys, Is there any way as loyal fans of The Odd Couple that we could get this show on DVD? Paramount has finally started releasing more shows to DVD than in years' past. Who besides Paramount, would own the rights to the show creating this hold-up? Jack |
