For example....
Im a fan of ALF, but the entire cast is boring as hell besides Willy and ALF of course.

View Full Version : Good Show with Boring Characters?? barwars 08-23-2004, 09:01 PM For example.... Im a fan of ALF, but the entire cast is boring as hell besides Willy and ALF of course. Chambers 08-23-2004, 09:49 PM Maybe Mad About You. Even though I like the show, I think Jamie and Paul are boring. The situations they get in are often funny, but they themselves aren't, IMO. The best part about "ALF" is the comic chemistry between Max Wright and a puppet. ;) Actually, Willie's my favorite character. barwars 08-24-2004, 03:34 PM Originally posted by Chambers Maybe Mad About You. So true Dean Winchester 08-25-2004, 03:20 AM Phil Hartman was the only character I liked on NewsRadio, which explains why the show barely lasted a season following his murder snl75 08-26-2004, 02:00 PM for some reason i never could get into newsradio but i do have a vicki lewis autograph im collection factsoflife 08-26-2004, 11:33 PM The West Wing. Good show with usually, good writing, but the characters, imho are totally boring. i pracitally fall asleep whenver CJ Craig is on. Fraser and Cheers both always bored me. barwars 08-26-2004, 11:35 PM Originally posted by factsoflife The West Wing. Do you like any of those shows?? factsoflife 08-27-2004, 12:18 AM If you actually read my post you'd see that i said that The West Wing had great writing and good acting but that the characters are boring. And well, Cheers and Fraser i just can't stomach they are boring to no end. barwars 08-27-2004, 06:37 PM Originally posted by factsoflife If you actually read my post you'd see that i said that The West Wing had great writing and good acting but that the characters are boring. Because if anything.... the characters were the best part of the shows. But since you dont like them, I guess it makes sense -- although thats not the point of this thread. factsoflife 08-27-2004, 10:32 PM Originally posted by barwars I did read the post, I was just wondering if you like either Cheers or Frasier. Well since i'm an adult i think i can decide if i'll post something or not. so i really don't need you telling me what the "point" of something is thanks. barwars 08-27-2004, 11:03 PM Originally posted by factsoflife Well since i'm an adult i think i can decide if i'll post something or not. so i really don't need you telling me what the "point" of something is thanks. no need to have an attitude, I was just saying that the point of the thread was boring characters from shows you like. factsoflife 08-28-2004, 12:46 AM Hey i want to apologize. my posts do seem very harsh. i'm sorry if i was a little rude. i guess i was having a bad day. To answer your question- I like Cheers, but the characters alwasy borde me, especially Diane, Littith, Fraser, Coach and Rebecca. and Fraser characters other than Daphne always board me 2. Niles was half-way on the verge of un-annoying, but put him in a scene w/ Fraser and i'm asleep faster than you can say "ZZZZ". TV Guy 08-28-2004, 02:09 AM Wings, Wings, Wings! I always thought that show had good writing, but would have been a bigger hit if they had more dynamic actors playing the lead roles. mstewart 08-28-2004, 11:16 AM Originally posted by barwars For example.... They're both were hotties and wholesome. Just those two alone was worth watching ALF. barwars 08-28-2004, 12:03 PM Originally posted by mstewart But the two things on ALF that are hot was Anne Schedeen and Andrea Elson. Brian Damage 08-28-2004, 12:16 PM Small Wonder....none of those actors could act worth a lick....yet, I sort of liked the charm of the show. factsoflife 08-28-2004, 11:24 PM Mr. Belvedear. I only vaugley remember this show, but as i remember the writing was decent and the actors did the best they could with what were truly one-note, boring characters. mstewart 08-29-2004, 02:56 AM Originally posted by barwars I personally dont find either of them attractive.... but even so -- goodlooking people can still be boring. The problem with ALF the characters were underwritten. Anne Schedeen is an excellent comic actress. She was great in her episodes on Three's Company. John Ritter was much more compatible with her than Mary Caderette, from the spinoff Three's A Crowd. Kate Tanner, like many TV wives, are underwritten and not showing their full acting potential. |
