View Full Version : Why didn't they do an 8th Season?
G-Force Glockstar 08-23-2004, 08:59 PM I wish they would have done an 8th Season. That would have been cool!
Why did they cancel it?
If they're was an 8th Season, I would like some of the episodes to be about like Angela and Shawn getting married, Topanga and Cory have a baby, Eric and Jack maybe get married, and Racheal does something cool like that, too.
But Season 7 was really great, too!!
spunkygirl 08-23-2004, 09:24 PM The actors wanted to move on. Ben Savage had postponed starting college at Stanford for like two years to finish up BMW. :)
They all were ready to move on and do things outside of BMW. :)

Yeah, I guess so.
AustinL1980 08-24-2004, 05:36 PM Was BMW still popular at the final season, or had the show run its course? That may also be a possibility.

From what I've read the ratings did dip at the beginning of Season 7 that's why originally the episode "Seven the Hard Way"(the second half of "war") was originally going to be the series finale, but the ratings picked up again, so ABC ordered more episodes.
AustinL1980 08-24-2004, 07:38 PM That's good that they ordered more episodes. I like the final season. That way, they could have a great ending. I can't wait to see the final eps on ABC family this week or next.
Fez619 09-02-2004, 07:59 PM According to what Rider (Shawn) said in a interview they were going to do another season of them in New York but both him, and Ben didn't want to. Ben decided that he would do it, but Rider said he wouldn't. They were going to just go ahead and do another season w/o Rider but apparently they never came up with idea to kill of his character that they felt the people would buy.
gOoSe 09-02-2004, 08:19 PM and Will was on the fence about it ;)
One thing i noticed, if your refering to the same interview he mentions MJ wanted to do the spin-off. No mention of ABC but im sure he ment both

I dont think TGIF wouldve been ready for that.
But about the spinoff, that was big talked about a lot thing, at least between me and people at school. (wow, back in 6th grade)
BMW ended at an akward time. The finale seemed rushed, they shouldve had them either graduate from college, or postpone the wedding until the finally.
