If you could play a part in Moonlighting, existing or non-exisiting, what part would that be and in what episode would you like to play it?
Come on y'all I wanna hear those minds reeling!

I would like to play Maddie Hayes!!!:D
In the episodes:

The Dream Sequence Always Rings Twice because of the music, I love music! :D

And:

Atomic Shakespeare because I always wanted to wear a dress like Katharina wore in that episode!

How about you Taz?

P.S. I never saw Big Man but I'll bet that's also an episode in witch I like to play :)

Sounds boring but to start:
I would like to play Maddie on Tracks of my Tears, because I would really like to tear up Bruce's shirt like she did when they were making out.(check out my avatar):happyface

I would like to play Miss Dipesto once and glue them together when they are having a fight like on Between a Yuck and a Hard Place.;)

And believe it or not: Annie!
Just so that Maddie would be jealous of me once instead of the other way 'round! LOL:lol:

And I would like to play Maddie on Big Man because of the great dramatic performance in his hotel bedroom and the dance (kiss)ofcourse. :eyes:

I hope you didn't mean my post Tazzie:mad: :p :D

If it isn't about mine I'd like to say:

NOOO!! I mean it probably sounds boring to be Maddie!

Let me rephrase that: It probably is boring to choose to be Maddie, that was so obvious.
But thank god I'm not the only one.

;)I mean being Maddie could never ever be boring!

Tazmania to answer your point from cybill.com, I have been lurking here for a few weeks but haven't posted much.

Anway I don't think its boring to be Maddie - you'd get to be with David after all!

My first choice would also be Maddie...not really in any particular episode, but just in general. It seemed like such a juicy part to me. Maddie was always the complicated one, and I think that would be interesting to try to portray. Having the hots for Dave wouldn't be too much of a challenge, though. ;)

If not Maddie, my next choice, of course, would be Dave (even though I'm a gal :p). It would probably be even more fun to act like a total goof-ball and always get the better of Maddie, the supposed "sane one."

And the winner of the consolation prize? Annie! Just so I could piss people off. :D

And that is the end of a very long and sad post, showing very clearly and for all to see, my utter inability to make decisions.

I'm no actor....so I wouldn't want to begin to inflict my thespian non-talents on the unsuspecting public....

but now If I could play some part for Moonlighting.... I would want to be a writer and then I could write scenes for M&D and they would be doing just what I would want them to do!

Hey Lauren!! Well, I don't think Maddie was the only complicated one. I mean, of course she is, but then David is also very complicated, even though at first sight he doesn't seem to be. He uses his jokes to protect himself, but he's nature is not as simple as he wants everybody to think it is. Don't you guys think so?

And I would love to play Maddie in I am curious Maddie... I just adore that scene, that fight, all the conflictive emotions that both of them are feeling and finally the release... Strong emotions, strong feelings... mmmm I LOVE IT!!

And another scene I like very much is the one from "Witness for the execution", when David goes to Maddie's bedroom. That's another dramatic scene I would definitly like to be in :D

I'm sure I have a lot more, let me think about it

My first reaction to this thread was to be Maddie in Maddie's Turn To Cry. I have been thinking alot lately of the scene on the trunk in David's apartment -- that tender, very romantic scene with the incredibly soft kiss. I think that was one of the sexiest moments in Moonlighting. I find it interesting that Maddie was fully dressed, buttoned up to the neck by the way, and still so very sexy. David was in his ripped sweats and also so very attractive.

"I hate you, David Addison."
"I know. I hate you too, Maddie Hayes. I've always hated you."

I know I can come up with many other scenes but this one was the first to come into my mind.

Go on! Go on! Great Lauren that you wanted to be Annie too!

I can definitely see where you're coming from there. David could arguably be even more complicated than Maddie, since he never shows his emotions. I just think it would be fun to limbo all over the office and get the serious people mad at me. :D

I would love to wear those heartprinted boxers once, the ones he's wearing on Witness..... I think I wouldn't be able to act!
I would just LMAO standing in front of Cyb and the camera like that!

Btw I heard he was a great :mooner: on the set!!

hahahahah

I don't have a particular episode in mind though

I agree completely!! I would LOVE to "limbo" like that. I'm not that kind of person at all, I'm more like Maddie (well, not that serious, really) and I'd love to feel that way for one day, to be so creative, making jokes and all that... It would be great to actually know how to make that kind of jokes!!! hahaha To have such a great imagination!! :D

Exactly! I'm like you...not as serious as Mads, but serious enough to never be caught dead acting like Dave. To do that for a day with nobody looking at me like I need to be institutionalized would be fantastic. :woohoo:

Ok here is a real answer...no cop out. If I could have played a part in Moonlighting.....

I would have like to have been one of the person's interviewed by Rona Barrett in "The Straight Poop"....that way I could have selected and talked about my favorite scenes/clips from the show just like I do over here and at my fan site.... no acting, no faking it....just the real stuff.

Agree with you Carina, David is far more complex than at first sight. It's only over 5 series that Maddie gets to know him so well, as he uses his "Dave" persona to cover his real feelings.

Imagine pealing off all those layers of his personality, layer by layer..... blimey, I'm not thinking about his personality any more am I!?!? :D Sigh...

Just realised that I hadn't actually answered the original question! Part of me would love to be Dave, mostly to get hold of his soul records and as others have said, to feel that sense of fun & frolic, that he has.

More than anything tho, I'd love to be Maddie in the first 3 series, as her life changes massively for the better when she meets David. It just takes her a while to realise just how good he is for her.. Sigh.. ;)

As I've said to some people before, I'm not sure I like Maddie in the 4th and 5th series quite as much, as it seems they make her act out of character and by the 5th series, shes quite harsh and almost cold. At the beginning, she has a vunerable warm, soft side to counteract the shouting and slamming doors!

I agree that Maddie became less likable in the 4th and 5th seasons. I can almost forgive the writers for the most of the 4th season because they had to write around Cybill's maternity leave, although I didn't agree with the plot line when she got back. (Maddie marrying after 3 days? I don't think so.) I don't know what they were thinking in the 5th season. It seemed like Maddie insulted David at every turn for no reason. :(

Tazmania

I think she makes it all up to him in Lunar Eclipse with her famous last words (and the look she gives him):

"I can't imagine not seeing you tommorow"

And do you guys really think she was that cold?
Have you seen Plastic Fantastic.....the final scene, Womb with a view ... the whole epi she was nice and warm, Take my Wife for example ...........the great kiss she gives him, :p

mmmm I don't think it was that bad a season at all!

Ofcourse the fact that it was the last one was a bad thing!:(

CyBr
08-31-2004, 01:39 PM
I don't think most of the 5th season was very good although I liked episodes better than others. But a perfect example of what I DIDN'T like is from Plastic Fantastic Lovers when they're listening through the wall in the hotel. David comes on to her and Maddie says something like David is even lower than the doctor. In another one, she calls him vile. That's the kind of thing I meant.

Tazmania
08-31-2004, 01:43 PM
I think that's the GAME they play with eachother!
She says stuff like that but in the meantime she loves it when he comes on to her.
Any idea where they are going together in the last scene?
I think it has a follow up at her house! (shower):) :)

CyBr
08-31-2004, 01:51 PM
That would be fun!! But I was disappointed that after she said that nice thing to him in Lunar Eclipse, he didn't even respond. He just looked at her. My problem with a lot of the 5th season is that the banter in the early seasons was fun, but later on it seemed liked it turned too caustic to me. Particularly by Lunar Eclipse they don't even speak to each other until they run around trying to save the show at the end. Oh well, just my opinion.

Tazmania
08-31-2004, 02:13 PM
Ofcours they always had a communication problem, I mean they talked a lot, but they hardly ever REALLY talked.
(like in Trip to the Moon at the Laundromat)
And you're right about the last episode it sucked! (excuse the word!)

And it's a shame indeed that they waited till the last scene before they were saying something nice to eachother.

The last one makes me sad........:(

I gotta agree with cybr about most of the fifth season. I think the fifth season has more of an edge to it. Not only are the insults a bit more vicious but even the jokes seem blatantly nastier to me ...not subtle innuendo type jokes of the earlier seasons.

I think both characters seem somewhat less charming in their dialogue and behavior. I also think the late fifth season acting at times seems a bit "phoned in. " At a certain point, I think the two leads act less in character and start more just playing themselves playing a character....which is certainly different to me.

Tazmania
08-31-2004, 04:59 PM
No you guys are right about that, it certainly wasn't like it used to be.
I also think it was because it was enough for everybody, they were tired of it I guess. Who could blame 'm.

But hey I've got a couple of favourite scenes in the 5th so....
I still have to defend it a little you know..:)
