I like the seasons 3-4 version best

I'll rate each season. 1 is the worst and 10 is the best.

Season 1 = 5

Season 2 = 7

Season 3 = 10

Season 4 = 8

Season 5 = 7

Season three it was all together. It's like for the first time the show had a direction. Plus, I loved the opening credits from that season.

I like season 5 the best. The show was finally about Ellen and I liked it that way.

Now with Season 2 on DVD I realize how much Season 1 well, sucked. I mean, it was still enjoyable, but in comparison -- it sucked.

I remember Seasons 3-4 the most.

Seasons 3-4

S1 and 2 are my favourites. I really like the characters early on, and missed Anita and Holly when they left. The writing was consistently good too.

By the time Ellen came out and Paige and Spence were dating, the quality had really dropped off.

I haven't seen the entire season 3 and 4, so I'll vote season 2 since season 1 sucked.

LOVED season 2 the best. Ellen was just the most charming during this season. She and Paige (and sometimes Adam) would just traipse off on a whim to a new adventure. They had no real responsibilities, except for their jobs. They kept social issues out. Ellen's parents were darling little foibles for Ellen. It was true SITCOM. Ellen Degeneres , in my opinion, hit her stride during this season. And the character of Ellen was still unsure of herself, and wanted everyone to like her, which i found very refreshing and endearing. Also, I loved Adam. And JOE was FANTASTIC!!!! I also loved Audrey. I thought she was best in season 2, where she wasn't quite a regular, just an occasional irritating, yet interesting to watch 'friend' of Ellen's. But she did add a great element to the show.

Season 3 was great, minus my beloved Adam. I also wasn't a fan of Spence's. It is only now, during watching reruns, that I find he and Paige to have very excellent chemistry. So he has really grown on me. This is my second favorite season.

Season 4 was fine. Nothing spectacular.

Seasons 1 and 5...I just didn't like them at all.
