View Full Version : Myrtle Beach Bound!

For the first time in recorded history, I'm actually going somewhere on my vacation!

I'm heading down to Myrtle Beach tomorrow for five or six days. I hope to play a little golf, maybe pick up a set of new clubs (they're really cheap there) ride my bike and maybe get some work done on a few writing projects.
I'm picking up my rental car early in the AM and then I hit the road.

My roommate is flying down Wednesday or Thursday and we're going to tear up the links and drive back up on Saturday.

I want you to all be on your best behavior, and try not to track any mud around the website.

Be careful, I hear Myrtle Beach is home to some of the world's most ornery, violent, man-eating giraffes.

Hell yes!

I just found out over the weekend that my good friend Joe got engaged.
My buddy Joe is a great guy, the salt of the earth, I've known him for over twenty years and I love him to death, but he was the guy in my group who you thought would never find a girl.

Now he's getting married!

So I'm pretty much the one who hasn't found a girl!

So right now, I figure I need all the help I can get!

If I have to don some spandex, the dammit, I gotta do it!

Sometimes, you gotta take one for the team.

Have fun at Myrtle Beach TJL! I have a place down there & used to go quite often (its an 8 hour drive for me), though I only make it down there a couple times a year anymore. Glad you decided to go down after the hurricane blew over, my neighbors down there said they cut off everyone's power as a way of making sure everyone evacuated the area.

Whew! It's good to be home.

I had a lot of fun on my trip. I played golf, drank beer, got rained on and eaten alive by mosquitos, and made a mess of my parent's vacation home.

I hope everyone behaved themselves while I was gone.

I have a few picks I'll post of the trip. Plus a detailed account of all the shenanigans.

I'm going out for a few drinks now. Many bartenders missed me.

I would say that Myrtle Beach is a fun place for a Spring Break kind of trip. I like the whole area from a golfers standpoint; many great courses to play, etc. But there are many fun things to do down there. Lots of shopping, bars, clubs, places to eat, amusement parks and such; If you like the whole beach kind of atmosphere, there are plenty of hotels along the beach to stay, lots of fun nightlife. Go for it.

Weelcome back your dreams were your ticket out
Welcome back, to that same old place that you laughed about
Well the names have all changed since you hung around
But those dreams have remained and theyve turned around
Whod have thought theyd lead ya

Back here where we need ya

Yeah we tease him a lot cause we got him on the spot
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back, welcome back
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back

We always could spot a friend, welcome back
And I smile when I think how you must have been
And I know what a scene you were learning in
Was there something that made you come back again
And what could ever lead ya

Back here where we need ya

Yeah we tease him a lot cause we got him on the spot
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back, welcome back
Welcome back, welcome back

And I know what a scene you were learning in
Was there something that made you come back again

Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back

Anyways, glad ya had fun!!!!:D

Welcome back TJL. I think you took the wrong week off for a vacation though. Good luck with the Convention this week. It was murder getting around last month when the DNC held their Convention here in Boston.

As promised, here are a few pics from the trip.

This is the car I rented. Pretty hot huh? The chicks loved it.

You can see my bike strapped to the trunk. It only fell off once or twice.

This pic was taken from the 9th tee box at the Cypress Bay Golf Course.
The entire hole is a lake.
Naturally, my ball took a swim.
