After watching a few episodes of Florida on "Maude",I decided to buy the complete first series of "Good Times",the other week.
I hadn't seen the show before but here in the UK,we did a version of "Good Times" called "The Fosters" in the 70s,starring Lenny Henry(husband of Dawn French) in the JJ role although all the characters were renamed.
The UK version was funny enough but it only lasted two series,I much prefer "Good Times",great performances from all the cast,particularly Esther Rolle and John Amos.
Its so refreshing to see a believable family,who are watching their money but getting through their hard times by love and humour.
I love Ja'net Du Bois,she lights up the room as the wise cracking Willona.
