View Full Version : The Writers were TREKKIES!! barwars 08-22-2004, 09:04 AM its true. just look through the episode guide, there's so many "treky-insiders" that they point out. I personally am not a fan of Star Trek.... but thank god the writers were trekkies, or we may never have gotten Noel! I mean, they're not only trekkies, but they're eggheads. And same goes for the writers for Cheers. I mean, is it just a coincidence that they chose Kate Mulgrew to guest star in the 4th season?? The same woman who later starred in a another Star Trek show?? The future Captain Janeway?? Um, don't ask me how I know that. And I also think the writers, like Cliff and Norm, lived vicariously through Sam Malone.
