If so....maybe the US should set up some sort of service similiar to this one. ;)

Moscow launches brush-off service

A false mobile phone number lets women keep things cool in Moscow

Russian girls now have the perfect means of deflecting the attention of unwanted admirers.

The official Phone Refusal Service allows them to give a mobile number to a man who plucks up the courage to ask.

But next morning, when the ill-fated fan dials what he thinks is the mobile of his fair lady, he is in for a shock.

"The person who gave you this number does not want to have anything to do with you. Goodbye," says a recorded male voice.

The service is apparently becoming popular in Moscow.

FreshGroup, the company that came up with the idea, says it logged as many as 10,000 calls last month.

"We bought a mobile and set up a constant divert to voicemail," a spokesman for the group told BBC News Online.

"Now the mailbox is full, and we really dread the thought of listening to messages left there!"

Ew, ok I'm straight and even I'm taking offense to your comments so I feel the need to say something.

God, you're acting like she's a circus freak or something...just b/c someone may be homosexual doesn't mean they should be treated like they're supposed to be between Happy the Dancing Bear, and Leo the Lion. Just b/c they don't like people of a different sex doesn't mean they're not people. So start respecting them as you would any other person. :rainbow: :rainbow1:

Anyways, that phone number thing is awesome, we definitely need that around here.

A local radio station is doing something like that. Girls can give a guys a phone number and when the guys call they just get an generic message, like "please leave a message at the tone". Well all messages are then played the next morning on the radio show.

I'm sure many guys would love to have your problem... It's not really something I've heard guys being able to complain about.

Sounds like something for lesbians. If you were a girl constantly getting unwanted catcalls from desparate jerks and being hit on by the same people, you'd think this is a good idea too.

That is cool. They should set something like that up in Canada. I have met a lot of jerks in my time who I practically have to tell that I hate them so that they will leave me alone. It's harsh, but there's no other way they would leave me alone.
