I noticed in Season 3, that at least for the first half -- Frasier became much more of a "workplace comedy" than the workplace/family sitcom that it was in the first 2 seasons.

anybody else see this??

I kinda do. Especially with the introduction of Kate Costa .

I think season 3 had more of a balance between work and family, whereas before the show focused more on just family.

Is the episode where they found out that Martin's dream was to write a song for Frank Sinatra in season 3 ?

I dont like her.
Her voice was annoying, and seemed too high strung for Frasier.

I didn't like the Kate/Frasier storyline either. It was as if the writers were recycling the old Sam and Diane falling in love with somebody who irritates you thing.

Yes, Cliff, the Sinatra episode was in season 3.

Exactly. But, I did like Frasier and Julia together (in love with someone who irritates you).

Frasier: Are you as turned on as I am?
Julia: (pushes him away) Are you crazy?!

Later in the episode someone (not sure who) says something like "turned on? people haven't said turned on in twenty years!"
(i think this was about the time of Cheers' 20th anniversary)

I wonder when did 'Frasier' start sink in a certain quality & then when did they bounce back ?

On UPN24 here in Wisconsin every week night @ 9 & 9:30 they have Frasier.

the episode @ 9 is at Season 9
the episode @ 9:30 has just began with season 3.

I wasn't a fan of Kate Costa either. I read somewhere awhile back that they wanted her as a recurring character, but she had a commitment from the network for her own sitcom. The sitcom never panned out and bye bye Kate.
