This is not a "jump the shark" thread, but a thread in which we can discuss smaller faults in shows that we already like.

For example, maybe you would have liked a show more if the theme song was different, or if the set was better, or if the writers hadn't made certain decisions.

I would have liked Friends a lot more if there was less coupling involved (I was never a fan of Ross and Rachel or Monica and Chandler - although the latter couple bothered me less because there was less drama involved).

I would have liked Cheers more if it had been more of an ensemble show from the very beginning (less focus on the Sam and Diane relationship).

I would like Boy Meets World a lot more if the writers hadn't changed Topanga from a weird and funny girl to a lip-gloss-wearing, almost ordinary girl.

I'd like Sex And The City better had Darren Star stayed the head producer/writer of the series. Imagine how good the last season would've been had it actually been funny.

Friends would've been better if they didn't beat around the bush with Ross and Rachel. Also they could've brought in new writers to liven up the atmosphere because everything in the last few seasons seemed so familiar.

That's So Raven-if they brought in some new friends, she only seems to have 2 friends and 3 enemies, she doesn't really talk to any1 else

Sabrina the Teenage Witch- if they did get rid of Hilda and Zelda and give Salem a smaller role

Charmed-if season 4 wasn't all about Cole and Phoebe

Friends-if that Ross/Rachel thing wasn't going on for most of the show, it got boring

I would have liked Freaks and Geeks more if it had not been cancelled.

I would've liked Frasier more if Niles and Daphne hadn't gotten together until the series finale.

I would've liked Friends more if Ross and Rachel were never a "will they/won't they couple?". However, Chandler and Monica together works for me.
I also would've liked Friends more if Phoebe just never existed. (IMO, Janice wouldve been a great "6th Friend")

I would've liked Cheers more if, hell -- It doesn't get any better.

I would've liked The Cosby Show more if when Denise came back from Africa, she suprises her parents by being married. But instead of having a step-daughter (Olivia), have her be pregnant.
Ohh and -- NEVER bring Pam.

I would've liked Family Matters more if the finale had been Steve and Stephon proposing to Laura, with Laura choosing Steve. (and just have them end engaged, no wedding)

I would've liked Sanford & Son more if Lamont weren't such an ass.
He's a terrible character on an otherwise great show.

Roseanne-I would have liked more, if they'd kept Sarah Chalke as Becky, instead of rotating her with Lecy Goranson, I liked Sarah better as Becky.

I agree with Barwars about The Cosby Show :)

Bewitched I would have liked more, if they'd just cancelled the show after Dick York left.

I thought Becky was just an annoying character - maybe a trend with characters named Rebecca...I don't know.

Route 66- They didn't NEED Linc Case. He was so not Buz and shame on the producers for thinking he was.

Coach - had they written Christine out early. She was a distraction to the plots. I would have mentioned Kelly, but they wrote her out in the middle of the series.

Home Improvement - had Wilson left to go to Ecuador

Laverne and Shirley - if Shirley had married a real person instead of someone bandaged up--or a bunch of bandages, as if ABC was too cheap to pay an extra actor--or even Carmine

The Waltons - had Olivia stayed for the last two seasons

The Wonder Years - had they had the show last another season for their senior year of high school, as well as have Kevin marry Winnie

Full House - If it weren't so dang wholesome. Too much of that can be bad. I'd also like it better if it was something that both kids and adults alike could enjoy. The only reason I watch it is because it's one of those series that I think is so bad, it's good (like people who watch bad and cheesy movies for the fun of it). I liked it as a kid but it's too sugary and sappy for adults.

Happy Days from 1980-1984 - If Richie and Ralph didn't leave.

The Wonder Years - had they had the show last another season for their senior year of high school, as well as have Kevin marry Winnie

~ If Suzanne accepted the EPs' deal and returned in 1981
~ If Cindy hadn't disappeared
~ If Lana hadn't disappeared
~ If Janet didn't marry Phil, someone she knew for all of two episodes before deciding to marry (well, there was a looooong break between episodes 169/170 and 171/172, but still...)

Desperate Housewives
~ If there was a tad bit more melodrama, and just a pinch less comedy
~ If Maisy, Andrew and Felicia were regular characters (Tom also, but he was recently upgraded)
~ If Susan was more confident of herself

Charlie's Angels
~ If Kate Jackson had reprised her role as Sabrina throughout the 1979-1980 and 1980-1981 seasons as a guest star
~ If Julie didn't replace Tiffany
~ If it was discovered that Charlie was Kelly's father (it sounds outlandish, but if you watch the last episode, it would make a LOT of sense, considering Kelly was an orphan)

All shows have to have that "jump the shark" moments to try to change the dirrection of the shows in order to keep it freash and interesting but all it does is spell the beginning of the end of the shows because by that time, they have ran out of ideas.With that said here's my ideas:
1.The Brady Bunch:No Oliver.He was only brought in for "cute" appeal.2.All others shows tthat had to bring in a younger cast to keep the shows running forever.3.Get rid of ALL reality shows;they never have serve any purpose than to bring on dumb,dimwitted losers whom should stay unseen,unheard.4.Family-friendly shows that are not dumb down,formula plotted shows that they always come out with.5.Some real kids as actors,not actors that are kids.

Maisy and Andrew, yes, but I'm not so sure about Felicia. I mean, I would have expected Mrs. Huber to be a regular.... but look where that went.

I would have liked "Andy Richter Controls the Universe" more, had it been on longer. ;)

I would have liked "Wings" more if, after Lowell left they actually tried to replace him with someone different. Budd just didn't cut it and he was gone by the end of the season.

I would have liked "Ellen" more if, after she came out, her friends were still in the show alot. The last season, her friends, were still on, but not as much. It's like they went from being cast members to be recurring characters.

I would have liked "Cheers" more if they had a decent send-off for the Coach. I mean I know they were in the middle of a storyline when he passed. But I still felt they could have done something more than just a quick mention that he died.

This goes for all shows that didn't have final episodes. If a show has a great last episode, it makes me want to watch the reruns more. Like with "3rd Rock". I wasn't a big fan of the show. But after watching the finale, I might get into it now (thru DVDs of course). So I would like all those shows more if they had final episodes. This is the situation with "Roseanne". The last episode turned me off of the show in reruns. I'm slowly getting back into it, but I still hated the way the show ended.

I would have liked "Hogans Heroes" more, if it were realistic!!! Not 100% realistic, from what I've heard about WW2 P.O.W.s, they couldn't have done that and kept it a comedy, but about 50% would have been good.

I would've liked "Happy Days" more if Gary Marshall hadn't decided to add a live audiennce and make it "The Fonzie show" and kept it the exact way it was in the first season.

I would have liked "MASH" more if Radar had stayed for the entire run and the series wouldn't have become "The Alan Alda show".

Full House- If there were less Kimmy and there was better writing.

Law & Order- If Serena Southerlyn never existed. At all.

The Facts of Life- If the show had ended when Mrs. Garrett left.

The Wonder Years- If it were on longer (one or two more seasons)

Blossom- If it ended a season later, that way we could see how they all interacted now that half of the characters got married.

I agree with the no Tori on SBTB thing. Also, if the college years would've had more episodes...I really liked them. :(

Boy Meets World if they didn't try to make Sean and Corey some kind of weird best friends/lovers, make it out like Corey loved Topanga since he was 6 (because in the first eps, he can't stand her and calls her weird) and if they would quit with the heavy over-dramatic "life altering lessons" in every episode episodes after they get to college.

Route 66- They didn't NEED Linc Case. He was so not Buz and shame on the producers for thinking he was.

I kind of take that back. Linc wasn't terrible after all.

Wings- No Casey. Alex was alright, but Casey was annoying.

Adam-12- More Wells and Woods. And no turning Reed into a Narco cop. And have at least one of the rookies they kept showcasing succeed. I swear they all ended up freaking out and Malloy or Reed or someone would yell at them.

Newsradio - If they had stopped the show when Phil Hartman died. (sorry to Jon Lovitz fans, but IMO it just wasn't as good after.)

Spin City - If Mike and Nikki stayed together and Mike had ended up with her and not Heather Locklear. Also if they had stopped the show when Michael J. Fox left (again, sorry to Charlie Sheen fans but it just wasn't as good when he took over. This was MJF's show after all.)
