Lady was working steady at the boutique, had her high school diploma and got alimony. Was she even supposed to be in the projects? Housing projects were originally constructed for widows and families with at least 1 small child AND the disabled.

Seems like she was always done up in the best threads. AND she had man after man trying to marry her/date her...whatever.

She shoulda focused on getting out of the projects vs who was buying what at that tired boutique.

just my 2 cents.:D

Have to agree with you there. In her situation, she coulda lived in a nice little apartment in a decent neighbohood.
Speaking of Wilona, was there ever any mention of any family of hers? parents? siblings?

not that i can recall offhand. all i know is that she was married and her and "FLO" went to high school together and were the best of friends. wonder if wologna was in the projects when she got divorced OR did her divorce land her in the projects?

they never delved that much into wologna's personal business or even life until penny came on board. that was one of the first times you got to see wologna's apartment.

don't know much else about her.

but when her and penny's mother almost got to fighting!! penny's mama had on that silk headwrap, all that jewelry and a floor length mink? penny broke out that tape recorder and then her mother tried to attack her for it...wologna comes out of nowhere and pushes her up against the wall?! LOLOLOLOL
The audience response is enough to make you rewind.
"Get her, Wologna."
"Yeaaaa......Girl"

One of the greatest moments of television.:D Maybe if Wilona moved out of the projects she would have to hike it on foot or by bus to the Evans home to spread the latest gossip. With that in mind, and a thought that Ms. Woods could not bare, she remained in the projects.

LOL

you are probably right. the projects needs a wologna. she wouldn't have anything to talk about if she moved somewhere else. no real stimulation or controversy.

I think Willona once mentioned having been raised by an abandoned mother solo who'd NEVER hit her (when she was confronting Penny's mom)!

I would've like to have seen Willona married before Thelma. That was too rushed. I just started a thread on her dating JJ deaf buudy. I tell ya, she was wearing that brown dress:happyface :happyface I can see why Walter (that's his name) flipped.

Her husband was a loser and perhaps they lived in the ghetto together.. She just stuck around and got another apartment while getting her life together..

Who knows. TV always has the unexplainable.

O.K. I know it is just a TV show and artistic license have to be taken for art sake, BUT in real life Willona wouldn't be able to live in the PJ's. Husband or not b/c she didn't have children prior to Penny. This was the one thing that always bother me about this show as I got older and well as other inconsistances in the show.

You are right about that.A single woman, gainfully employed wouldn't even get on the list for those apartments.I doubt if she could even get section 8..(don't worry,I sometimes over-analyze,as well.:D )
