I don't mean to show off... but... AHHH i'm just ecstatic right now.
I just came back from the concert, and I am sooooo starstruck. I just met Jasmine, Diana, LaToya, George, Jennifer, John, and Jon Peter!!! The bad news is that my camera died just before "Aint No Mountain...", which sucked, so I didn't get to take pictures with them, but I'm still greatful.
When the show ended, we were walking out, and I saw Rudy Trias (Jasmine's Dad). Me and my family (and a cousin) were wearing lei's, flowers in our ear, we had signs, we had a shirt, we had everything.
At first, we said hey to Mr. Trias, and he said hey, but he was on his phone, and someone was calling him from the stage, so he had to go. But just when we were about to exit, he came up to us and told us that he had 2 extra tickets for backstage. Right then, my heart just FLEW out of my chest. I was like "thank you soo much" and just thanking him to no end. My Mom is filipino, and started talking to Rudy in tagalog (the filipino language), so that was cool... i guess.
The HORRIBLE thing about the situation in the beginning was that we only had 2 backstage passes. Me, my brother, and my cousin wanted to go. My Mom didn't really care. If you do the math right, there's 3 people, and 2 passes. I felt really bad, up to the point where I was about to give my ticket away, but then I was like... heck no (i know that sounds mean... but... yeah). Well then, we started going in. My Mom came along with us, along with my cousin, even though they didn't have backstage passes. The security people let them both in since we were family, and since my brother's 10, she couldn't just let him there all by himself.
So then we come in, and then we see George!! I didn't go say hi yet, since there was this mob of people around him. But then, Jasmine came right out, and came directly to us, as if Rudy had told her. She told us that she loved our lei's, and that she saw the signs during the show (she waved to us 3 times.. AAH). We chatted for a bit, and she signed my poster (which I'll post .. whenever I have the time). She talked to my Mom a little, and it was fun.
Soon enough, I see Diana, Jennifer, John, and LaToya all out. Diana was busy taking pictures. Jennifer was far, and LaToya was right behind me. LaToya is sooooo short. I got her to sign my top 12 poster thingy, and she gave me a hug, I told her that she has one of the best voices ever, and she thanked me. She's great. ... But i have to mention this one bit. One I hugged her, she was wearing one of those tops that show your stomach, and her underwear was just sticking out halfway (on her back) It was kinda funny.
Later, I go to Diana, who I love to death. I let Diana sign my Diana sign, and I told her she should've won, and she said "aww that means a lot to me, thank you". She was really sweet, and again, shorter than I had imagined.
I went to George next, who was just soooo great. I had a "huff" sign, and I wanted him to sign it, and when he saw it, he started jumping and he bumped into the walls! He was SOOO happy. He asked me if I was from Waikiki (because of the lei's), and I said no. He signed my paper, but his "david" was so smushed together, so he respelled it, and resigned it, and it was great. He was just so thankful, energetic, and he gave me about 6 hugs. Oh! And another thing... he has a retainer thingy on his top row of teeth. Something I never noticed.
I went to John Stevens next, and even though I'm not exactly a fan, I let him sign my Top 10 poster. I told him he did a great job tonight, which he did, and he thanked me. However, he stole my pen  I thought that was funny, but he's a great guy. I met his Mom a few minutes later, who was just really sweet and kind.
After John, I go over to Jasmine, since she JUST got done with a picture. I talked to her for a little bit, she asked me if I was filipino, and I said yes... and then I told her that I voted for her, and loved her performances, and her voice. She also asked me how old I was, and I said 18, and she was surprised (yeah, i do look really young for my age). Eventually she thanked me, and kept complimenting the lei's and stuff. She, like La Toya is EXTREMELY short in person.
After that, I met Jennifer, who was taller than I expected, AND sweeter than i expected. A minute before I came to her, she pulled out her cell phone. It looked really cool. But anyways, she just signed her name on the poster, and gave me and my family a HUGE hug. She's a really nice girl.
Later on, we met BRENDA, Diana DeGarmo's Mom. She gave me this gloss black and white pic of Diana (the one where she's wearing that pink jacket... that RCA publicity thing in June). I later asked if I could have a big colored one, since some people had it, and I just assumed she forgot to give one to me. She said "they don't like us to play around with merchandise, but you're a fan, so I'll do it was a favor", and she was really happy, and thanked me for loving Diana, and I hugged her.... twice? She was AMAZING.
I went to Diana again to sign those 2 thingys, one to me, and one for my friend, who couldn't come. I decided to chat with her for a little, since it was getting less crowded. I asked about her knee, and she said it was getting better. I saw the bruises on her leg, and they're visible. I told her that I loved all her performances and that "Don't Cry Out Loud" moved me a lot. She thanked me again, and told me that she appreciated every bit of support.
The last autograph I got was JPL, since there was this huge group of penpals around him. He was really cool. He had a hard rock cafe shirt on, just incase any of you wanted to know.
After that, we played around with George Huff a bit. I did the dip with him. It was fun. He's really an awesome guy. When all the idols were told to go now, he reminded us that love makes the world go round... or something like that.
Unfortunately, Fantasia, Camile, and Amy all didn't come out, but it was alright. According to the announcer guy, they were all feeling sick.
Some mentions on the PERFORMANCES
-Amy's performance was REALLY energetic. everyone was up and moving. The girl behind me asked me to sit down, and what was really weird, is that right then, Amy was like "cmon everyone, stand up, its a concert" THANK YOU AMY.
-Camile's performance was forgettable. No one really stood up or anything, however she was barefoot, and had lots of applause.
-JPL's performance was good. There were lots of JPL fans. All had this JPL shirt, similar to his "A Little Less Conversation" shirt. I thought it was neat. They sat right next to us, and gave me a sticker and a JPL magnet.
-Jennifer's performance was great. Surprisingly, she had more fans than I though, and she really got the applause she deserved. Before the concert, I would've given her a 6/10, now she's 8.5-9/10, which is really good
-John's performance was actually really impressive. I actually enjoyed it, and ..yeah. I clapped and he waved at me, since I was saying "go john"
-George's performance was awesome. He couldn't see my "Huff" sign though, because everyone was jumping during his performance. He really gets the audience moving.
-LaToya's performance was awesome as well. it was the absolute perfect(est) song for her (My All). She was great.
-Jasmine!!! Aaah i was so happy. She came out of a cage, and I was like .. weird. But it was a fun performance, and I sang along to it, and she waved at me, and blew a kiss at me.
-Diana!!! She sang Dreams first, and I sang along, and it was just really emotional. I don't know why. I felt really touched. She sang that other song after, and that was fun.
-Fantasia... hmm. She sang Summertime, and sang Signed, Sealed, Delivered second. At the concert, I realized that she would be 100x more better if she didn't go too far into the screeching and saying "yeah" every other word. Summertime was sang straight without yeahing, and it was great. SSD was good too. She sang some other song later, that was just filled with Yeahs. Her "I Believe" was actually really moving. She even cried. She just "yeahed" WAY too much at the end. minus that, and it would've been dead on perfect.
-the group songs were amazing. I loved jasmines piano thing, and hey ya, and crazy in lovel, and heartburn. haha. in the middle of "I heard it through the grapevine", diana's with the boys, and John is on one side, JPL is in the middle (where I was), and George is on the right. Each side had to yell as loud as i can, and unfortunately George's side won
Overall, the show was SUPERB. Better than I expected. I was just really ticked off about my camera malfunction. AHHH. I could've gotten my picture with Jasmine and Diana!!!! BUT AAAAAAAH. Oh well.
I spent 81 dollars, way more than I thought I would spend. I got a Diana shirt, a Top 10 shirt, a Diana button, a Jasmine button, a Jasmine poster, a Diana poster. I wanted a Seacrest, Out shirt but they didn't have any. I would've bought a tour book if it wasn't 20 dollars.
It was great seeing other people who loved american idol. I put on my Diana shirt on after I got it, and it was fun seeing people say "Woooo Diana" as they walk by. Also, people would go "YOU ROCK, you're a Jasmine fan!!" when they saw me. It was awesome. The JPL fans are really cool too. They let me borrow their glowsticks for Jasmine's performance.
Ah. I'm done now. If you haven't gone yet... STAY A FEW MINUTES AFTER EVERYONE LEAVES. You will see SOME parent, and will hopefully get tickets!
