i loved both SOAP and Benson - and i believe that if they release all 4 seasons of SOAP, surely Benson will follow !

purchase on DVD for moi. I thought that once Season 3 of Soap hits, maybe plans for Benson would take shape (as he got his own show when Soap's 3rd season began).

I also wish that Soap's Season 2 wrap-up special was available *somewhere*- I got hold ofSeasons 1 and 3 wrap-ups on VHS, but I guess Season 2 wasn't officially released. In that, Benson announces his plans to leave to go to work for the governor, correct?

I wish I knew. Usually when I see "Soap" it always seems to be Season 1. I haven't the foggiest idea what even goes on in Season 2!

I was hoping it would have the season wrap-up/preview specials, but sadly, this one has NO special features... and still no word on Benson. :(

Benson was a real quality sitcom and it ran for seven seasons, a lot of the stuff that's been released didn't last more than two seasons on the air.Benson needs to be released on DVD it had a lot more going for it than just Missy Gold."God she was cute"

Believe me, we all feel your frustration. I know a few people myself that want this show. Hopefully they come to their senses very soon!!

I would love to see Benson on DVD

As an 80's enthusiast, who's watched a ton of TV, I know that Benson was one of the:

funniest
most intertaining
smartest

shows ever created.
For people who havent seen it(there's got to be alot after 18 years off the air), and for people who are running out of intertaining shows to watch, Benson is a solution.
It's about time Benson joined the DVD club!

I would buy Benson on DVD for at least myself and 3 of my friends for gifts, no question. To see these episodes uncut (especially seeing how TV Land - yes, thank you for even airing them - is really butchering them...)

Just realised I hadn't posted on this petition; can’t believe it. Anyway, I’d buy each season for myself personally of course, but also professionally since I work with a large library system.

Benson should've been released on DVD. I work at a college and know of several persons (including the library staff and myself) that would purchase all seasons in a heartbeat. What's wrong with the powers that be? Do they not want to make money?

I agree with you Benson should have came out on DVD by now.

When this show is released, it will sell very well. The people that like this show, REALLY like the show. And they realize that their few shows that have all that Benson does. One great thing about Benson is it's a family show but still really funny without being raunchy. That's so rare, especially now days. Another great thing about Benson is it was great from start to finish. There are no throw away seasons. It's a head scratcher as to why it's taken this long to be released.

I love Benson, but it barely comes on Tvland anymore. I really want it to come out on dvd. It's a really funny show and I don't see why not for this show not to be on dvd. Lets get more signatures so that sony sees Benson as one of great shows that should be on dvd.

It's a good sign that season 1 has been released. But certainly no guarantee that additional seasons will be released. Just consider some other sitcoms from that time period that are considered classics that have struggled to have all of their seasons released: Barney Miller, The Bob Newhart Show, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Taxi.

In some of the cases listed above there have been gaps of several years between releases. It would be very disappointing to see that happen to Benson, particularly sense the show got better with the addition of Pete and Clayton in season two. And the show was still good during it's final season and could easily have continued.

So keep up the pressure until ALL the episodes are released!

But this thread was really initiated to get the show out, period. My thinking was that if we started waiting too long for Season 2, we could get a new thread up here specifically for that. :)

It is time for season 2. Benson is a great show and should be available. I have been to the Sony website twice to try to find some way to contact them to request this and have not found any way to get in contact with them. I remember watching this show as a kid and thinking it was great. We bought season 1 and will buy all of them when they come out. It is time!

Absolutely- bring on season two. Would be a shame if nothign else is released- that's happened to Murphy Brown, (sales were low for the first season, so nothing else is planned for it).

I watched more than 90% of all episodes of BENSON and loved it. After buying Season 1 on DVD, my 6-year old daughter is also a fan. We are both eagerly awaiting the release of Season 2.

Some season 2 Benson episodes can be seen in their entirety on imdb.com and hulu.com.

I wish I knew, Frank. I think our best chance is for Shout! to release the remainder. I know they have a website you can go to to post your thoughts. I already posted under the Benson thread that they need to release this show. I think Sony has pulled the plug.
