I just recently got into this show and noticied after season 5 Jalessa was gone and yet her partner Col. Taylor remained. Did they ever explain why she was gone? To be honest I never cared much for her character anyway.

I don't think they ever mentioned her at all in year 6 as far as I remember. I don't recall them ever mentioning what became of Col Taylor's son either. For that matter Col Taylor was only in about 11 episodes in the last year and only a couple in which he was really a significant part of the plot. Yet he was still married to her because in the episode where Charmayne and Patrick Malone's character cheat on the french exam with the baby monitors Col Taylor mentions "their" daughter Imani.

Come to think of it I don't think they ever mentioned Dawnn Lewis' character's absence from Hangin WIth Mr Cooper in 1993 either.

Its been a long time since I saw it but I think they mentioned her character had left on HWMC on the first episode that Geneva and Nicole moved in. I don't think she was mentioned after that though.
