I'm not making this a poll because everyone will tell me it's incomplete.

My favorite console is a tie between NES and SNES.

I'd have to go with the SNES. The best games of all time are still of the SNES variety.

Dreamcast

SNES maybe, but I would say most likely dreamcast

SNES. Absolutely, unequivocally the best console of all time! The quality of the games was astounding - look how many of them are currently being re-worked and re-released for the current batch of consoles.
I still play my SNES regularly and I'm always on the hunt for games that I haven't got. Last month I got a copy of Killer Instinct and it was still in it's original box with instructions and the limited edition soundtrack CD.

I go for the NES, because NES was the best system ever made. I love all of my favorite games:

1. "Section Z"
2. "3-D Worldrunner"
3. "Legendary Wings"
4. "Mega Man 2, 3 and 4"
5. "Athena"
6. "The Karate Kid"
7. "Friday the 13th"
8. "Gradius"
9. "Contra"
10. "P.O.W."
11. "Super Mario Brothers 1, 2 and 3"

In addition that, I like the PS1 sometimes and the Dreamcast.

2 hyped bros.

XBox, mo questions or denying it. It's so dang advanced. Dolby Digital AC3 5.1 digital surround. Not that crappy analog 5.1 imitation they call Dolby ProLogic II that Gamecube and Playstation 2 has.

XBOX my ASS.

SNES, bitch.
(with NES in second, N64 in third, and GCN in a close 4th)

You don't need super duper turbo technology to have a good system. I do deny it, XBOX sucks, in my opinion.

Thank you. It's amazing to see gamers who don't judge games by their graphics/age/whatever nowadays...

Absolutely, i'm not very fond of the latest games. A lot of them are really boring and serious. i prefer games that are that are more comical and take place in a fantasy world, like mario and zelda.

SNES will ALWAYS rule.

That makes absolutely no sense. How does the Xbox suck? It's far more advanced than any other console out there. Just because it lacks a large amount of games, such as the PS2, doesn't make it a bad system. Just a bad game selection. Despite the fact the best multiplayer of all-time is exclusively on Xbox.

YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND. A system doesn't need to be "advanced" to be good, all it needs is good games. I don't like XBOX because it has bad games. Who cares how powerful it is? I prefer fun games like the ones you can find on NES and SNES, which don't have the best graphics in the world but they are mighty fun.

I agree with HwTH212. Just because the XBox is the most powerful of the next gen consoles it doesn't mean it's the best. A console shouldn't be judged on how fast it is or how realistic it's graphics are. It's the quality of the games that's important. I defy anyone to nominate an XBox game that can come anywhere close to being as involving and fun as, say, 'Super Mario World', 'Yoshi's Island', 'Donkey Kong Country' or 'Zelda: A Link To The Past'!
Call me old fashioned but I miss the days of the 16bit consoles and 2D side-scrolling games. Who wants a super realistic gaming experience anyway? Gaming should be about escaping reality!
Retro gaming is of growing interest now. I know of independant shops and online stores that are dedicated to buying and selling older consoles such as the SNES and Mega Drive. The very fact that these systems and their games are in such demand and are still being played today is a testament to their quality. I doubt people will be in such a hurry to play XBox games 10 years from now!

Hard to say which is the best.
I guess I'm partial to the old Atari 2600. Those games were great to play. Superman was the best bame ever made!

Of the modern stuff, I love Nintendo's Gamecube.

Yeah, I was there. I remember watching my cousin play Super Mario World, then I tried but I stunk, I had a great time anyway, since it was so new to me at the time... I actually play my older games much much more than my newer games. Sure the newer games have great graphics, but games need to be fun to be good. If I wanted to look at pretty pictures, I'd go to an art museum. :p
