Just wondering if the Mary Tyler Moore show was the first show to be set in a newsroom. If so, what's the source of information for that! I need to know for sure!

'Adventures of Superman' (1950-57) was set in the offices of the 'Daily Planet' newspaper but we rarely saw them actually typing stories, no shots of the inside the pressroom- and I don't recall anyone carrying notepads not even the costume-challenged Lois Lane!
