I need help. Badly. I cannot look at myself in the mirror.

The wisdom teeth extraction went.. fairly well yesterday. It's a pain in the ass, but I'll live with it. But the thing is, even though I iced my face as much as possible yesterday, I blew up like a balloon! I look like a CHIPMUNK! Worse, is I'm turning black and blue.

I'm not a person to be able to stand ice for a long time. Does anyone at all have any suggestions to help the swelling go down besides ice?! I'm desperate here. :(

I'm not of any help but I just wanted to emphasize my sympathy. That doesn't sound fun at all.

Aw..................... Poor Karly. Ice is about the only thing that would relieve the swelling. Motrin(Ibuprofin) reduces swelling also. And relieves pain. Have you tried that?Don't worry by Monday it should be better. But the bruising? That might take longer. Just be glad that you got this done before school started!

Aw you will be fine in a few days just let it heal, if you constantly put ice on it you will be freezing to death. Trust me I had a surgery on my gums a few years ago and I swelled and looked like a fish, but I was fine before I knew it. Just hang in there. :D

The only thing I can take with the pain medication I'm on (a form of Oxycontin) is Aleve :(

I can't think of any solution to your current predicament so I guess you'll just have to wait it out. It should be fine in a couple of days, tops.

Try wrapping a pretty scarf around your puffy cheeks. It should be tied with a bow on the top of your head. At least that way you'll have a nysterious look about you.

Hope you feel better soon! I actually just had 2 of my wisdom teeth out last Monday and within 2 days I was walking around and feeling good. I never swelled up at all and only took one pain pill. I guess I'm pretty lucky. Sorry to hear that it didn't go as well for you though.

Chip N Dale aren't too bad to look like - just be glad you're not Bugs Bunny or Gopher from Winnie the Pooh!
