Once again, Emmy has become misguided in deciding what were truly the best shows of the last year. Some of the same old shows are still, undeservedly, being nominated (i.e. "The West Wing," "Will & Grace"). However, we must work with what we are given, so here are the nominations in the comedy/drama categories and the ones in bold are the ones whom I believe deserve to take home the prize this September:

I have a sinking feeling that "Sex And The City" will win this year. It was the only show nominated among the other comedies that had finales this season ( I don't know why Friends and Frasier weren't nominated) so they will probably get the sentimental win. The Emmy folks love that show.

I would like to see 24 take home the Best Drama prize, but The Sopranos has never won it either and it has been on the air longer than 24. The Emmys have given the award to The West Wing four years in a row, excluding a handful of worthy shows. I don't know what Emmy voters find so appealing about it, other than its liberal political slant.
