"Michael's Big Fall" was good but the episodes-(The Baby) and (J.J in Trouble) was very UNWATCHABLE IMO

I'd say both "Michael's Big Fall" and "The Baby" were kind of boring but they weren't unwatchable to me. I thought "JJ in Trouble" was a funny episode, and I already told you about "A Place To Die". I'm the type where I'm still gonna like the episodes because it's a show I grew up watching and liking alot, so I'm going to like almost every episode regardless if it's not as good as others. The only unwatchable episode for me is "The Judy Cohen Story"

It didn't seem like a typical GT episode with James and the family, it was pretty much getting familiar with Lou Gossett's character, then a visit to Michael's school.

I thought they were alright but for some reason I was thinking that John Amos was starting to have problems with the producers at this point when he was absent. That's just my first thought I could be wrong.:cool:

THat was the reason. He was having disagreements with the writers and producers which is why he was missing in 4 eps of that season. Esther Rolle was also having problems with the producers which is why she was absent in the episode J.J in Trouble.

When i heard that i said to myself-"He is Out of town at a job doing WHAT??????-LOL

So far...I have enjoyed the 3rd Season DVD of Good Times; though John Amos was not in a few episodes; I still consider the 3rd season to been one of my favorites:)

I am enjoying Season 3. But I notice that this season, they seem to dive into juicier and more socially relevant topics (STDs, drugs, healthcare) vs the family getting hustled for some encyclopedias. The show is much more serious and not has heavy on the laughs...there are some teary scenes with both the family and their guests.

Another thing, this is the breakout of JJ. If you notice, he has more lines than anyone else on most of the episodes. Also, notice the opening credits. Originally, each of the adults had their own spot and the kids were all together. Jimmie Walker is not solo with his nameslot and even gets a reference to his character. This was the telltale sign where the show was headed and obviously explains all of the probs that John and Esther were having with the creative direction of the show.

My husband was not a fan but got one look at Thelma and BAM, anytime I put on the DVD, he's right there. Thelma is truly a natural beauty...this can not be said about many of the AA women on television today. I think she is beautiful and would like to know what she's doing now...if anyone knows.

ALSO: is it just me, or is Michael starting to act just a little gay? I've always thought that he was (I do believe he is in real life) but you can really see it here. Especially in his rendition of "When you're in love" on the "Rent Party" episode. Nothing wrong with that, but I've always thought that about him.

My fav episode: JJ Fiance. Where exactly was Debbie Allen going with no money (Thelma's purse was left in the room) in Indiana?

It was mentioned in the 1975 Issue of Ebony Magazine that the show was going to deal with more serious issues for season 3 and that they were going to give J.J a job. Also i agree with you, Michael's feminine ways were more noticeable in the 3rd season. It was also strange for a 14 year old boy to call his father-"DADDY"-LOL Michael called him Daddy a lot in that season.
